Sparrow's POV:

I was sitting in Muse-ic class when (y/n) walked in. My heart sped up as she walked gracefully toward Professor Pied Piper. Her (h/l), (h/c) swayed and her gorgeous (e/c) eyes shone. I could hear Tucker and Jonah snickering behind me, causing me to narrow my eyes. I turned around and swatted their arms.

"Royally uncool guys, knock it off," I whispered. Turning back around, I saw that Pied Piper was motioning in my direction. This is also when I remembered the empty seat beside me. My heart sped up a bit and I hastily changed how I was sitting, hoping to come off as less of a jerk. I watch as she walks over to the chair next to me, her face reddening a little. She shoved her bag under her chair, causing some of her hair to fall into her face. She pushed the strands behind her ear and sat down, focusing on the Pied Piper. I kept stealing glances at her, hoping she'd be looking at me, too, and we'd start talking, but (y/n) continued to sit there awkwardly.

After a few minutes, I grew tired of this and took a deep breath, then tapped her on the shoulder. Throwing in a little smile, I introduced myself.

"Hey, I'm Sparrow," I said quietly so the Pied Piper wouldn't notice.

"(y/n) Ever," she replied, tilting her head with a shy smile.

"You're new here, right?" I rest my elbow on the back of my chair and place my head in my hand. I should at least try to like her. We're gonna be forced to sign the book, anyways, I thought.

"Unfortunately," (y/n) laughed. My smile turned soft, her laughter flowing through my ears like a melody.

"I figured that much," I said.

"You don't have to talk to me, you know. Headmaster Grimm told you all about me already, right?" she asked with a roll of her eyes. This made my smile droop a bit before I replaced it with a fake smirk.

"Yeah, Grimm told me about you and our destinies, but I want to talk to you," I said. (y/n) let her hair fall into her face, hiding a smile.

"Alrighty class, please prepare your instruments!" the Pied Piper calls out. I sling my guitar over my shoulder, beginning to tune it. Next to me, (y/n) unzips a (f/c) bass guitar.

"You play?" I ask her, slightly surprised.

"Yeah, I began learning when I was twelve. This is actually a birthday gift," (y/n) spoke while she tuned her bass.

"If you're good, maybe I'll let you join my band, The Merry Men," a smirk appears back on my face. (y/n) laughs at my statement.

"Thanks, but no thanks," she says, "I'm not one for the spotlight."

"You just let me know when you change your mind," I joke.

"Mr. Hood, Ms. Ever, if you would please pay attention we're about to begin," the Pied Piper says. (y/n)'s face flushes red in embarrassment and I let out a laugh.
