(y/n)'s POV:

Many students from Ever After were currently in the all-purpose room setting up for the Thronecoming dance. String lights were being hung, decorations set up, and flowers arranged. Cupid was in charge of the flowers while I was on the stage setting up lights.

"Be careful, songbird!" Sparrow called from down below.

"I will," I giggled. I was currently at the top of a ten-foot ladder draping fairy lights from the stage rafters. The ladder occasionally shifted and creaked under me, which added to both Sparrow's and my nerves. He walked back over to the princes after sending me a nervous glance.

"We're never going to beat Beanstalk High at bookball," Dexter panicked. He was seriously stressing over the predicament.

"Oh little brother," Daring had a very condescending tone. "Don't be such a worrier. How tough can it be to beat a bunch of little beans, huh?" I shook my head from my place on the ladder.

"Beanstalk High is filled with giants, Daring, not beans," Hunter's voice is full of surprise at Daring's stupidity.

"Well, then we are in a lot of trouble, aren't we?" Daring elbows Hunter nervously.

"They're gonna kick our tails, yeah!" Sparrow sings into the microphone. I laugh at his antics, shaking the ladder once again. This time, however, the ladder gives out and I fall towards the stage. I let out a shrill shriek and break myself for the inevitable impact, but it doesn't come. At least not as hard as I was expecting. I crack open my eyes to see that Sparrow had caught me and I was currently in his arms bridal style.

"Are you okay?!" Sparrow was obviously concerned as his eyes raked over me to check for any damage. In turn, I wrap my arms around his neck, cuddling my head into his chest.

"I'm fine, thanks to you," Sparrow turns slightly red at my comment.

"Good, but you're not getting back on that ladder," he brings me over to where he was talking with the other guys.

"Very nice catch, my man," Daring compliments as he looks at himself in his mirror. Sparrow laughs and rubs his neck uncomfortably at the comment.

"Hey guys," Cerise walks over with a box of pizza. "You know, I was thinking maybe I'd try out for the bookball team. I'm wicked fast," she crouches down on the stage.

"Oh well, that sounds good-" Dexter gets cut off and Daring steals a slice of pizza.

"But you're a girl, oh!" Sparrow sings into the mic. I glare at him in disapproval and elbow him in the ribs. "Ow!" the microphone lets out a string of feedback.

"So what does that have to do with it?" Cerise is close to losing her temper.

"Sorry, Cerise, damsels are for saving, not playing fairytale-back," Daring says. Cerise swipes his slice of pizza before storming off.

"That was royally uncool, guys," I cross my arms as I glare at the group.

"What? When have you ever seen a girl play bookball?" Daring laughs. "As I said, damsels are for saving."

"Excuse me? In my story, I'm just as strong as him," I point my thumb at Sparrow, my other hand on my hip. "You need a serious reality check, Daring." He has a slightly sad expression as if he's second-guessing his comment. The loud sound of footsteps changes the subject for us.

"Hi, Tiny," we all say with a monotone voice.

"Guys, I think I know a way we can win against the giants. Huddle up!" Tiny says with excitement.

"I'll leave you all to it," I dismiss myself. Sparrow gives me a quick kiss before I go. Leaving the stage, I go to help the other girls put up decorations. I hope we can get this done in time, I think to myself.

Baby Yaga was currently leading us all through a field to the entrance of the forest. Several students' pets came up to them, such as Nevermore who flew over to Raven, and Arrow who slithered to Sparrow. I stood between Sparrow and Cupid, slightly nervous at the immense amount of animals around us. The pets, however, quickly left after Madam Yaga began to speak.

"Now you're about to discover a most unique building here at school," Madam Yaga said. "It's called Heritage Hall!" Madam Yaga motioned towards an empty clearing.

"Madam Yaga, where is it?" Cupid asked the question all the students were wondering.

"Well, you see," Madam Yaga pointed to the clock tower and everyone turned to see what she was looking at. "Heritage Hall is a magical structure!" The clock produced a beam of light that went to the clearing. A large building with a set of marble steps and four tall columns suddenly appeared. "It only appears during Thronecoming."

Sparrow and I gasped in amazement as we entered the building. Sparrow held my hand as we went up the steps, making sure I didn't trip. I thanked him as with reached the grand double doors. Our amazement grew as we entered the hall. Portraits of our fairytale ancestors covered the walls as the hall stretched onward.

"Heritage Hall is dedicated to those who came before you, your parents, the alumni of Ever After High," Madam Yaga explained. I cringed at the statement as it didn't apply to me. "Or your mentor," Madam Yaga quickly fixed her mistake. "Now if everyone will gather around the Storybook of Legends, I'd like to tell you about your Thronecoming treasures." We all walked to the end of the hall where a giant version of the Storybook of Legends was displayed.

"When your predecessors were students, they were given the chance to leave gifts for any of their children who might attend this school," Madam Yaga was then interrupted by Headmaster Grimm.

"Yes, well, let's get on with it," the headmaster says. All the students then run to their stories. I follow Sparrow, automatically assuming that I don't have a podium.

"Ms. Ever," Madam Yaga calls my name. I turn back to her and Sparrow attempts to join me.

"Don't worry, go get your gift," I push him in the direction of the Robin Hood mural. He smiles as he continues to his podium. I instead walk to Madam Yaga.

"Madam Maid Marian left a gift in case she had a daughter," Madam Yaga said. "Since she didn't, she requested it be given to you." I look at her with a surprised expression, excitement building inside me. I recollect myself before speaking.

"Please tell her I say thank you," I smile.

"Of course, dear. Now go find your treasure," Madam Yaga nudged me toward the stairs. I quickly looked around for my podium while noting some of the things the others had gotten. Blondie got running shoes, Briar got a neck pillow, and Cedar got revealer rays to name a few. I finally found my podium across from Sparrow's.

The intricate design of a beautiful princess adorned the wall. She wore a traditional princess dress along with a veil. A castle and plants were in the background and a bow and sword were on either side of the princess. I walked to the podium and opened the oddly long box, gasping at what I saw inside. In held up an ornate golden longsword. Its weight was evenly distributed and it glinted in the light. I turned to Sparrow with an excited smile on my face.

"I love your mother."
