Amara bolted down the hallway and up the staircase. She took a deep breath, shoving the suffocating worry away from her mind, she had to win this. She had to perform, her idol was watching and she needed to prove to him that she has what it takes to be a hero.

'The bomb is probably being held at the top, and Midoryia is most likely alone. I don't think Bakugo gave him a chance to make a plan. Perfect.'

She stopped at the top of the stairs, stunned green eyes landed on her and she could sense his nervousness filling the room, only broken by her confidence as she entered.

"Midoryia." She nodded, earning a shocked look from the teen.

Then she charged at him, she was relying on the sole hope that her hypothesis was right.

'He can't control his quirk. Or it's too much for him to handle, if he's smart he won't use it too much. If he does, then he'll have an advantage for a short amount of time, all I have to do is dodge and wait.'

Izuku readied himself, raising one hand up toward Amara. He had a determined look in his eyes. She couldn't help the smile that stretched across her face, she knew what that meant. He was going to use his quirk! As green sparks flickered around Izuku, she steadied her breath. She needed to be fast if she was going to dodge his attacks.

Then Izuku hesitated, she saw this opportunity and jumped up, making Izuku lose sight of her for a few seconds. Seconds was all she needed, suddenly she was behind him and connected her foot with his head. Izuku stumbled and she noticed the absence of the sparks, she knew this meant he no longer had his quirk activated, meaning he was just another person now. Amara ran straight ahead, she held in a chuckle when he tried to power up again, but she was too close. She grabbed his outstretched arm and shoved it down harshly, causing Izuku to fall to his knees. She spun around and sent her knee right at his back, but to her surprise he had reacted faster than she thought. He grabbed her leg and swung her away, with his quirk in use.

'So he doesn't need a lot of time to power up? That's fine, I'll give him less time.'

But her schemes were interrupted when she collided with the wall, she heard Hanako say something through her com and didn't even register what she had replied with, if she had replied. Suddenly, Izuku was in front of her, worry adorning his features, but his quirk still powered up.

"Shit." Was all Amara could manage to get out when she just barely dodged a powerful fist, but when Izuku pulled back his hand, she noticed the purple coloration on his skin. She knew what it meant, Izuku was injured. That made him weaker.

She took this moment of stillness and sent a kick right into his stomach, then she scrambled to get up. She could hear the distant booms of Bakugo's quirk, but that wasn't her concern right now. She breathed in again, collecting her thoughts, her gaze drifted past the wheezing greenette to the fake bomb. Then it hit her.

'Of course! I don't need to beat him! I need to secure the bomb!'

Once again, her smile spread and she dashed right at Izuku, he prepared for another attack, but was left stunned when Amara jumped again, but instead of a hit that followed, she used his shoulders to launch herself toward the bomb. Izuku's eyes widened, he had to stop her! He couldn't fail All Might!

Amara felt the rush of energy scale through her body, she knew it was the adrenaline, but her eyes were set on the bomb, it was only a few meters away. Just as she reached out to touch it, Izuku grabbed her foot, making her hit the ground again. She hissed in pain and turned to face him, she saw the desperation that filled his eyes. Her face twisted into another smile, but this one was wider than the others. She kicked his hand off of her ankle and got up, looking down at his pitiful state. His right arm was even more purple and seemed to be burnt. His legs were swollen and bent in the wrong ways. She stepped to the side and started to speak.

"How could you be so stupid? You know you can't control your quirk! You know you can get hurt!" A deep chuckle erupted and soon burst into a fit of laughter.

"But you still used it!" She stopped laughing and wiped some dirt of off her costume's shirt.

She spun on her heels and started to walk over to the bomb, Izuku's thoughts were screaming at him to move and he forced his body to. He slowly got up, raised his good hand and readied his fingers for a damaging flick.

"I'm sorry! But I can't let you win!" Yelled Izuku, making Amara turn to face him again.

Her eyes widened as he released his finger, she had just enough time to raise her shield, clicking a blue button on the golden contraption, a semi-transparent blue light shot out, and blocked her from the brunt of Izuku's blow. Izuku fell to his knees, not having the strength to stand anymore as the pain echoed in his displaced and broken bones.

His heart dropped when Amara emerged from the small pile of rocks, her laughter rocketing in his mind.

'How?' Wondered the now helpless boy.

"I'll say this, that was a good last resort. If I didn't have my shield I'd be in a worse state than you, unfortunately for you though, I do have a shield." She gave him a triumphant smirk.

Then she wobbled over to the bomb, clutching her side and dragging her dislocated ankle along. She sighed and placed a tired hand on its cold metal surface. She couldn't help but giggle when All Night's voice rang through the speakers.

"HERO TEAM WINS!"

But just as Amara was going to help Izuku up, the boy flinched and whispered, "Kacchan?"

Amara realized that something had happened, either the blonde shouted into the com or an explosion went off, but she got her answer when the floor gave in beneath them. This time, Amara didn't have a chance to put up her shield. She helplessly fell through the concrete, stones and metal pieces flying past her view.

"At least I won." She mumbled as she prepared to hit whatever ground was still intact.
