Izuku Midoriya soared through the air using his Float Quirk. With every leap, he extended his Black Whip to keep villains away from his path, striving towards the crash site.
Midoriya rushed towards the bus, where he saw civilians, both young and old, fleeing from the scene. While some had sustained injuries, they were not life-threatening.
As Midoriya stepped into the bus, he noticed you lying on the ground, unconscious, with blood dripping from your head. Damnit, Ren sustained a head injury. She needs medical attention, fast, he thought to himself, ensuring your head was aligned with your spine to prevent further damage.
As you slowly regained consciousness, you managed to utter the name "Kacchan".
"No, it's me, Deku," he immediately advised against any movement, reminding you of your head injury that you sustained. Despite his warning, you reassured them with a smile that you'll be all right.
Izuku slowly helped you to stand up, his arms wrapped around your waist for support. You leaned your weight onto him, feeling the warmth of his body against yours. As you stood there, a villain with phantom arms emerged from the shadows and charged toward you. Midoriya quickly took a defensive stance, ready to protect you from any harm. As the villain approached, Midoriya activated One For All, unleashing a powerful smash in hopes of sending the villain flying. However, the villain used his phantom arms and generated large claws. It grappled on parts of the bus to protect itself from blowing away from Izuku's attack.
Midoriya gritted his teeth, analyzing the situation. He realized that brute force wouldn't be enough to defeat the villain. He needed to come up with a strategy fast as the villain continued to charge towards them. Midoriya made a quick decision when his Danger Sense Quirk was activated. With his heightened senses, he was able to predict the villain's movements and dodge his attacks with ease while evading harms from coming to you.
"Up you go," Midoriya picked you up bridal style. You wrapped your arms around his neck before the young hero left the crash site for a more spacious area. You buried your face in the crook of Izuku's neck, trying to steady the sudden internal spinning sensation as Deku leaped into the air. Midoriya placed you on the ground near an alley. You were troubled by the sudden sensitivity to light and sound.
"Are you ok?" Midoriya asked, his eyes filled with concern. He noticed you were wincing in pain and immediately began to reassess your injuries once more. He checked your pulse, pupils, and breathing rate to ensure there were no immediate threats to your health. After his assessment, he realized that you had a mild concussion.
"Ren, you need to stay here! I'll be back!" Izuku stated as he attempted to address the villain, but you used your quirk to immobilize him.
"I'm not going to just sit here and do nothing. Heroes sustain injuries all the time and still have to fight. What makes me different? People need saving!"
You knew that being injured didn't mean you were incapable of helping others. In fact, it was often those who faced adversity that were the most resilient and determined to make a positive impact. You refused to let your injury hold you back from doing what was right and helping those in need.
As you looked at Midoriya, you saw the concern in his eyes. He wanted to keep you safe, but you knew that sometimes in order to protect others, you had to put yourself in harm's way. You were willing to take that risk because you believed in the importance of being a hero and the responsibility that came with it.
Your words were a reminder that being a hero wasn't just about having powers or being strong. It was about having the courage to stand up for what was right, even in the face of danger. You were determined to make a difference, and no injury was going to stop you.
