Rin Jehoon
My childhood was filled with happy memories. My parents were the key source, I couldn't imagine what I'd do without them
We would go to the movies, parks and even travel to other countries. My mother's smile was beautiful and my father was a gentleman. He even taught me how to speak English
My father worked as a biology teacher at a collage in Seoul, whereas my mother was a housewife
I admired their love for each other, I wanted to be just like them when I grew older. They were the best parents
However, little by little my father became distant as he spent more time at work. When he came home he'd lock himself in his room. My mother grew worried
My father became obsessed with his work and began spewing theories randomly about humans and animals
"muosi ingangwa dongmureul geuroke dareumyonsodo geuroke gakkapkke mandeuneunga?" My father asked himself
*What makes humans and animals so different yet so close?
My mother slowly became fascinated by my father's theories and I saw the beginning of our relationship breaking
I was only 15 when it started. Father began to build things and research more about humans and animals. My mother would be close to him in every step
Did they forget about me?
My thoughts scared me daily as my parents seemed to not acknowledge my existence. I became depressed as I felt alone having to do everything by myself
"jehunineun noe abojireul geuman gweropyo geuneun ilhago isso" Mom said
*Jehoon stop bothering your father he's working
"geuga geuriptta" I sighed
*I miss him
"mianhae nega ihae mot halkkorangon aljiman ne abojineun uriga jaldwemyon bujaga dwel ssu itttaneun joeun saenggageul gajigo gyesyo" She smiled
*I'm sorry, I know you won't understand but your father has a great idea we can get rich if it works
Her once beautiful smile scared me
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Hybrids" Mother smiled
"geuge museun marijyo" I replied
*I don't understand
The explanation to my question came a few months later
"Jehoon" my father called from his room
I ran as quickly as I could. I smiled, my father remembered me. There he was sitting on the bed
"Come sit" He said while patting the space next to him
I happily sat
"Yes dad"
"You're perfect" He muttered
"apeuji aneul kkoya yakssokae" He added
*It won't hurt I promise
My eyebrows furrowed
"Appa-
A sharp pain pierced my neck before I finished my sentence. My father's laugher echoed through the room. My body fell off the bed onto the ground as I winced in pain. The sight of the needle in his hand
I began to cry
How could he do this to me?
What was in the needle?
Sadly, I realized I became my fathers first test subject
