Chapter 2

It was about a year later and Nezuko was worrying for her brother who hadn't woken up since she had brought him to the Moon Pillars estate. At this point in her training Michikatsu had taught her the basic forms of water breathing, which he had known even though he wasn't even the water hashira. It was kind of confusing.

As she continued with her training she wrote down everything for Tanjiro when he was to wake up. She trained hard knowing one day she might be able to turn Tanjiro back into a human.

Michikatsu had brought her to a clearing with a big rock in the center of it, "what is this for..?" Nezuko asks.

"You will cut this boulder or I won't send you to final selection" Michikatsu says.

"Huh? Cut the boulder?" Nezuko says in confusion.

"Yes I'll be off now" MIchikatsu says as he walks off back to the house.

Nezuko looks at the boulder in confusion as she swings her sword at the boulder; she feels the shakes go through her body as she strikes the boulder with all her might. She tilted her head in confusion looking at the boulder wondering how she would do this.

After struggling for 6 months she sighs, "This is impossible!" She cries out.

"You're weak if you think this is impossible!" She heard a voice from on top of the boulder. She quickly reacted and jumped back as the person jumped down at her. "You're weak, slow" the person said Nezuko quickly blocked his attacks as they came quickly. It was a few minutes later when the person had stopped and Nezuko was on the floor panting.

"Are you alright?" a female voice said as she leaned over Nezuko.

"Huh?" She says looking up at the women. "I see you're alright, I'm sorry about Sabito, he's a little rough sometimes" The girl says, "I'm Makomo" She explains, "And me and Sabito are going to help you destroy that boulder over there" She explains.

"Is it actually possible!?" She asks

"Yes! Me and Sabito cut our own boulders so yes it is very much possible!" Makomo explains with a soft smile.

Nezuko noticed that Sabito was watching from a distance and she glanced over at him. He seemed lonely.

"Get up!" Sabito calls, "we're going to train until you can't anymore" Sabito says.

Nezuko yelps in surprise and quickly gets up gripping her sword.

They then started going at it again.

It was about 6 months later and she was writing in the Journal while Tanjiro was still asleep. As she wrote she thought of a conversation she had with Michikatsu when he said that Demons didn't age. "I'm officially older than you brother" She said as she glanced over at him. She was really worried about him.

It was only a few days later when she was in the clearing with the boulder with Sabito and Makomo. She was fighting with Sabito when she swung for the first time faster than Sabito. As she did that she watched the mask fall off his face she gasped seeing the soft smile that was on his face. Sabito then disappeared and in front of her she found the bolder cut in two. Her eyes widened.

Michikatsu then walked into the clearing, "Congratulations" He says, "You can go to the final selection" Michikatsu says a soft smile playing on his lips.

Nezuko gave him a big smile. "Really!?" SHe said, "Thank you!" she says as she runs up to him and gives him a hug. Michikatsu froze for a moment before responding with a hum and returning the hug.

"Let's have a big meal to celebrate" Michikatsu says as they separate from the hug.

"Yea!" Nezuko says happily.
