The squeak of the door awoke the boy. He groggily opened his eyes and tried to sit up, but was tackled. "Get the hell off of me," He mumbled, trying to go back to sleep.
"Oi! Atlas, get up." The other boy whispered. "Get up already! Come on."
"Why," Atlas groaned, voice muffled by the pillow.
The other boy adjusted his position on top of Atlas and started shaking him. "It's my birthday, don't you remember? Come on. Get up!"
Atlas opened his eyes again and stared at the boy shaking him. "Fine, fine! Stop shaking me, Draco!"
As the boys settled down, there was a tapping sound at the window. They turned their heads and saw an eagle owl. Not just any owl, but Draco's owl, Ulysses. Draco rushed to the window and shoved it open. He took the envelope from Ulysses and fed him a treat.
Atlas rubbed the sleep from his eyes and yawned. "What's that?" He asked.
"A clown. What do you think?! It's my Hogwarts letter! Obviously." He said, plopping back on the bed. "Honestly, how dim witted are you?" He carefully opened the envelope and took out the papers. He unfolded them and began to read.
Dear Mr. Draco Malfoy,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy HeadmistressJust as Atlas was about to congratulate him, their house elf, Dobby, apparated in. "Master wishes for your presence," He informed the boys.
Atlas nodded. "Thanks, Dobby," He smiled. Dobby smiled back and apparated away. The two boys got off the bed and went downstairs to the main room. The morning sun shone through the dark stained glass, making the room look eerie.
Lucius looked up at the boys when they entered the room. "Ah, I see you've gotten your letter, Draco."
Draco looked down, realizing he still had the letter in his hand. "Yes, Father," He replied.
Lucius looked at his son with approval. "Happy birthday, Draco," Narcissa said, awkwardly patting the boy on the shoulder. Draco stiffened at the touch of her hand. She handed him a neatly wrapped black and silver box.
"Thank you."

6/18/1991Atlas laid on his bed, staring at the water droplets dripping down the window. He looked at his reflection in the glass. Atlas' raven black hair was long, about three inches from his shoulder. A white streak slightly visible through his dark hair. His dark brown, almost black eyes made him look soulless. He glared at the patch of freckles on the bridge of his nose. He always hated them.
As he was lost in thought, the door behind him burst open. "Happy birthday, Attie!"
"I told you to stop calling me that!" He huffed, turning to Draco. The shiny black and white box in his arms caught his attention. "A present? For moi?"
"Oh, just shut up and take the bloody thing," Draco said, plopping the box next to Atlas.
He sat up and opened the box. Inside was another box. "I swear to god," Atlas mumbled. Draco chuckled. Atlas opened the box, only to find another box inside. This process repeated several times. "Okay, seriously! How many boxes are there!" Atlas wailed. At this point, Draco was sitting on the end of Atlas' bed, laughing. Atlas sighed and continued to open the boxes. He knew that something had to be inside.
