Year Two

Atlas was surprised that when he got home, Lucius didn't say anything to him. He thought he would have begun yelling at him for hanging out with the three Gryffindors. But strangely, it seemed like Lucius didn't care. Or maybe Draco didn't tell him. No, he must've. That wasn't the only thing that was off. Draco wasn't hanging out with him. They usually spent every waking moment together when they were home.
Atlas was alone in his room, lounging on his bed. He had been awake for a few hours but hadn't moved. He sat up and brushed the hair from his face. It had gotten a lot longer. It was an inch or so past his shoulder and was curlier. His white streak more prominent than last year. He got up and walked to his mirror. He took some of his hair and put half of it up, leaving his bangs to hang in his face.
"Hey, Dray," Atlas said, opening the blond's door. His room was dark, the light off. He could see he was sitting on his silver four-poster bed. There was no response. Atlas began to bubble with anger. He couldn't think of a single thing he did wrong. Why was he being ignored? "Okay, what the bloody hell is your problem!?" Atlas banged his hand on the door frame.
Draco jumped, surprised by Atlas' sudden outburst. He looked up at his little cousin. "I'm not ignoring you-"
"Yes, you are! This is the first time you even looked at me since we got home! What did I do!?"
"You know what you did," Draco said quietly, turning away.
"Oh my god, you're ridiculous. Just because I made a few new friends-"
"With blood traitors and a mudblood!" Draco exclaimed.
Atlas had to bite the inside of his cheek so he didn't curse Draco out. He rolled his eyes and walked back to his room. This was insane. His best friend was ignoring him just because of who his friends were. Atlas couldn't believe the audacity. Maybe that's why Narcissa and Lucius haven't talked to him either. Narcissa didn't even welcome him home. He brushed it off and figured it would pass.

It's been about a month and none of the Malfoys have said a word to Atlas. They haven't even acknowledged his existence. It was driving him insane. Well, except for Lucius. He took every chance to make Atlas' life a living hell.
He ignored the letters from his friends. He blamed them in a way. He knew it wasn't their fault, but he couldn't help it. He was furious with them. They were the reason his family didn't care about him. The reason they hated him. They were the reason his best friend left him. He concluded that he hated those three Gryffindors for taking his family away from him. For forcing Draco away. And he decided he'll do anything to get him back. Anything.
Atlas followed Lucius and Draco down Knockturn Alley. The walls were dark and wet, covered in vines and moss. It smelt like a sewer. They walked further down the alley and people moved to make room for them. Lucius stopped and opened a shop door. The sign above the shop read 'Borgin and Burkes'. The three of them stepped into the eerie shop. This place always gave Atlas a sinking feeling, like impending doom. It seemed ridiculous, but then again, he's seen what horrific items this store holds. Lucius walked across the shop, lazily looking at the items on display. He rang a bell on the counter, then turned to the boys. "Touch nothing."
Draco, who was reaching for a glass eye, said, "I thought you were going to buy me a present."
"I said I would buy you a racing broom," Lucius said, annoyed as he drummed his fingers on the counter.
"What's the good of that if I'm not on the House team?" Draco whined. "Harry Potter got a Nimbus Two Thousand last year. Special permission from Dumbledore so he could play for Gryffindor. He's not even that good, it's just because he's famous. Famous for having a stupid scar on his forehead," He complained.
