Atlas and Draco sat together in DADA, waiting for Lupin's arrival. Needless to say, Atlas was nervous. He hasn't been in class since the Boggart incident and hasn't seen Lupin since their last conversation. Atlas glanced over at the Gryffindors, noticing Harry wasn't present. He shook his head, chastising himself for even thinking about him.

The door opened with a bang and Snape entered the classroom. He walked to the front of the class, banging the shutters closed.

Ten minutes into class, the door opened again. "Sorry I'm late, Professor Lupin, I-" Harry stopped short upon seeing Snape.

"This lesson started ten minutes ago, Potter, so I think we'll make it ten points from Gryffindor. Sit down," Snape drawled.

Harry didn't move. "Where's Professor Lupin?"

"He says he is feeling too ill to teach today. I believe I told you to sit down?"

Harry still stood in his place. "What's wrong with him?"

"Nothing life threatening. Five more points from Gryffindor. And if I have to ask you to sit down again, it will be fifty." Harry slowly walked over to his seat next to Ron and sat down. Snape looked at the class. "As I was saying before I was interrupted, Professor Lupin has not left any records of the topics you covered so far-"

"Please, sir, we've done boggarts, red caps, kappas, and grindylows," Hermione quickly said. "And-"

"Be quiet," Snape coldly interrupted. "I did not ask for information." He lazily flipped through the textbook. "Today we'll be covering werewolves."

"But sir, we're not supposed to do werewolves yet-"

"Miss Granger, I was under the impression I was teaching this lesson. And I am telling you all to turn to page 394. All of you! Now!"

"Now which one of you can tell me the difference between a werewolf and an animagus?" Silence. "None of you? Well, I'll have to inform Dumbledore of how behind you are."

"Please sir," Hermione started again.

"That girl. I swear she never knows when to be quiet," Atlas whispered to Draco.

"The werewolf differs from an animagus because-"

"That is the second time you've spoken out of turn, Miss Granger. Five more points taken from Gryffindor for being an insufferable know it all."

"You asked a question and she knows the answer! Why ask us if you don't want to be told!" Ron defended her.

"Detention Weasley."

No one made another sound for the rest of the lesson. They took their notes on werewolves from the textbook while Snape walked around the room. The bell rang and everyone began packing their things.

"You will each write an essay, to be handed to me, on the ways you recognize and kill werewolves. I want two rolls of parchment on the subject, and I want them by Monday morning. Weasly, stay behind. We need to arrange your detention."

"I hope Lupin is better soon. I don't want another DADA class with Snape," Atlas complained.

"Even I have to agree with you," Draco huffed.

"Yeah, Lupin is by far the best DADA teacher we've had yet. I swear if he's secretly evil or fired by the end of the year, I'm going to start a riot," Blaise said.

"With you there," Atlas agreed.

You always have a choice, just some are harder than others.
