Atlas finally made it to the Gryffindor common room entrance. He looked at the fat lady and whispered, "Caput Draconis."
"Huh? What are you doing here so late? You woke me up!" She huffed.
"Ah, I'm sorry. Could you please let me in?"
"Why should I? That's not even the right password."
"What?"
"It was changed this morning," She informed Atlas.
"You've got to be kidding me," He mumbled. He groaned in frustration and sat down next to the portrait. Atlas heard a thud from inside the common room. The portrait swung open, almost hitting him in the face. "Woah!"
"Shhhh!"
Atlas looked up and saw nothing. All of a sudden, a hand comes out of nowhere and yanks him up. They wrapped something around him and he realized it was the invisibility cloak.
It was quite cramped as they walked to the third-floor corridor. "Oh, and you guys could've told me the password was changed," Atlas grumbled.
"It wasn't," Harry whispered back.
"Wait, what?"
"It's still Caput Draconis," Hermione said.
"That stupid-"
"Shush, we're here," Hermione said and she pulled out her wand. "Alohomora." The door unlocked and the four of them walked inside.
"Wait a minute...he's...." Harry started. The dog let out a snore and the air blew the cloak off of them. "Sleeping. Snape's already been here. He's put a spell on the harp."
"Uh! It's got horrible breath!" Ron complained.
The four of them approached the sleeping dog. "We have to move its paw," Atlas said, eyeing the trap door.
"What?" Ron whined.
"Come on!" Harry said, stepping closer to it. He bent over and started to lift the paw, along with Atlas. The other two came over and they all began to push the paw. Its nails scraped over the door and it snorted again, but didn't wake up. Hermione and Harry bent down and lifted the trap door open. It was pitch black inside. "I'll go first. Don't follow until I give you a sign," Harry said. "If something bad happens, get yourselves out."
It suddenly went quiet. That's when Atlas realized, "The harp stopped playing."
"Ugh! Yuck!" Ron exclaimed, slobber dripping down his shoulder.
The four kids looked up to see Fluffy, who growled at them. "Jump!" Harry yelled. They jumped down into the dark pit. Ron nearly got bit by the dog as it tried to shove its head into the hole, and it broke the ladder. They landed in a bunch of tangled roots.
"Woah. Lucky this plant thing is here, really," Ron smiled in relief.
"Whoa!" Harry said while shuffling around. The roots started to wrap around his legs. Then it wrapped around the others too. They all started to panic and squirm.
"Stop moving, all three of you," Hermione said.
"This is Devil's Snare," said Atlas, glad he remembered something from Herbology.
"You have to relax," Hermione continued.
"If you don't, it will only kill you faster," Atlas said, for dramatics, of course.
"Kill us faster!? Oh, now I can relax!" Ron shouted. Atlas rolled his eyes before being sucked down below. Hermione smiled and fell down too.
"Atlas! Hermione!" Ron and Harry called out.
