One evening, after a long day of work, Raihan returned home to find Alejandro sitting on his couch, staring at his phone with a look of worry on his face.
"What's wrong?" Raihan asked, immediately sensing that something was amiss.
Alejandro looked up at him, his eyes red and puffy from crying. "I've been trying to call you for days. You never answer your phone," he said, his voice trembling.
"I'm sorry, I've just been really busy with work," Raihan replied, feeling guilty for neglecting his partner.
Alejandro shook his head, tears streaming down his face. "I thought...I thought you didn't want me anymore. I sent you a message saying that I wanted to end my life, and you didn't even bother to respond."
Raihan's heart sank as he realized the gravity of the situation. "Oh, Alejandro, I'm so sorry. I didn't see your message. Please, let me help you. Are you hurt?"
Alejandro nodded, showing Raihan his wrists that were bandaged from where he had attempted to cut himself. "I also got into a motorcycle accident, but it didn't work," he said, wincing in pain as he moved his twisted ankle.
Raihan's eyes widened with shock as he took in the sight of Alejandro's injuries. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up," he said, helping Alejandro to his feet and guiding him to the bathroom.
He gently washed the cuts and bruises on Alejandro's body, and applied antibiotics lotion to help prevent infection. He then helped him to his bed, tucking him in and making sure he was comfortable.
"I'm so sorry, Alejandro. I never meant to make you feel like I didn't care. I love you so much, and I'll do anything to make it up to you," Raihan said, his voice filled with emotion.
Alejandro looked up at him, tears still streaming down his face. "I love you too, Raihan. I don't know what I would do without you," he said, reaching out to take Raihan's hand.
Raihan climbed into bed beside him, pulling him close in a tight embrace. They stayed like that for a long time, holding each other and offering comfort and support.
"I'm here for you, Alejandro. Always," Raihan whispered, as they drifted off to sleep, secure in the knowledge that they had each other, no matter what.
