Raihan and Alejandro had been together for several months now, and Raihan had finally decided that it was time to introduce Alejandro to his family. They had planned a dinner at his parents' house, and Raihan was both excited and nervous about the event.
As they arrived at the house, Raihan could feel his palms sweating. Alejandro squeezed his hand reassuringly, and Raihan smiled gratefully at him. They walked into the house, and Raihan's parents greeted them with smiles. However, as soon as they saw Alejandro, their expressions changed.
Raihan's mother looked him up and down, her eyes filled with disapproval. "Who is this?" she asked coldly.
"This is Alejandro," Raihan said, his voice shaking slightly. "He's my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" Raihan's father repeated, his voice rising in disbelief. "What kind of nonsense is this, Raihan? You know this is not acceptable in our culture."
Alejandro stood there, looking uncomfortable and out of place. Raihan's sister, Hannah, stepped forward and smiled at Alejandro warmly. "It's nice to meet you," she said. "Raihan has told me a lot about you."
Raihan's parents continued to glare at Alejandro, making snide comments about him and Raihan. Raihan could feel himself getting more and more overwhelmed by the situation. He had hoped that his parents would be more accepting of his relationship, but their reaction was worse than he had anticipated.
Suddenly, Raihan couldn't take it anymore. He burst into tears, his body shaking with sobs. Alejandro quickly crouched down next to him, wrapping his arms around him in a comforting embrace. "It's okay, Raihan," he whispered. "I'm here for you."
Raihan's parents looked concerned, unsure of what to do. Hannah stepped forward and put a hand on Raihan's back, rubbing it soothingly. "It's okay, little brother," she said gently. "We love you no matter what."
After a few minutes, Raihan managed to regain his composure. He wiped away his tears and looked up at Alejandro, who was still crouched next to him. "Thank you," he said softly. "I'm sorry."
Alejandro just smiled at him, his eyes filled with love and understanding. "Don't be sorry," he said. "I'm just glad I could be here for you."
Raihan's parents still looked disapproving, but they didn't say anything else. They finished their meal in awkward silence, and Raihan couldn't wait for it to be over. As they left the house, Alejandro took his hand again, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"That was tough," Raihan said, his voice shaking slightly.
"It was," Alejandro agreed. "But we got through it together. And that's all that matters."
Raihan smiled at him, feeling grateful for his support. "I love you," he said, leaning in for a kiss.
"I love you too," Alejandro said, returning the kiss. "And no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you."
