Mireya's heart pounded as Kiri, Tuk, and Neytiri helped Tsireya and Mireya look their best for the ceremony while Jake, Neteyam, and Lo'ak helped Ao'nung and Rotxo."Are you excited to see Rotxo, Kiri?" Tsireya smirked and Kiri rolled her eyes and slapped Tsireya's hands away playfully. Mireya giggled as Neytiri ran her fingers through Mireya's hair to rid any knots.
"You should be asking Mireya that. Excited to see Neteyam tonight? As you're both old enough to mate once you become one of us." Kiri eyes Mireya and Tuk gasped and Neytiri gave Kiri a knowing look.
Mireya blushed and helped Tuk out her new beads into her hair. "Now, when the ceremony begins. They'll do the men first, then we will do you both and...you can both go off." Neytiri told them and looked to Tuk. "I need you on your best behaviour Tuk. So play nicely with others kids and do not torment Lo'ak." Tuk snickered but Neytiri gave her youngest a look and Tuk sat up and looked to Kiri who giggled.
"Put this on." Kiri handed Mireya new clothing for her to wear and Mireya thanked Kiri before hiding away and covered herself with a cloth. Mireya undressed herself and placed a fancy top garment on, it was a teal green with a dried yellow flower in the middle, the cloth was like stalks coming down and covered her breasts and wrapped around her neck. Her loincloth was the same colour though it exposed more than her old loincloth. A horn sounded and Neytiri grabbed the girls in order and had Tuk and Kiri in front, Tsireya and Mireya held hands behind the siblings, and Neytiri stood behind the two.
"Now go." Neytiri ordered them and they walked out where everyone watched them, they were located down by the Hometree to make connection with Ewya. Mireya's heart was pounding loudly in her ears, she looked ahead even when she felt soft hands grab her skin. Her eyes looked towards Ao'nung and Rotxo who had their cummberbund's around their stomach to show they had reached Manhood and completed their rites. Mireya smiled softly to them and stood next to her brother still holding hands with Tsireya.
"This is for you." Tsahik gave Mireya a small band to wrap around her arm. She then moved on to give Tsireya one.
Ao'nung helped Mireya put hers on while Mireya did Tsireya's. Mireya thanked her brother who bowed with a small smile, the siblings looked back to the crowd and they were told to come down. Neteyam placed a firm hand onto Mireya's shoulder and everyone followed suit, the ceremony began and the floor was lit up by Ewya's connection and the Metkayina became Omatikaya.
Mireya felt her stomach jump around as if there was a thousands of Woodsprites in her stomach. She smiled at her siblings and Rotxo and they smiled back at her and they turned to face Omatikaya. Neteyam was the first to grab her and pulls her into an embrace, Mireya wrapped her arms around him and the clan cheered as they came together.
"Ma Rey. You are Omatikaya now." He whispered to her and they walked further back where the feast was held. He held her tightly and she stayed by his side as they grabbed food and sat down with the clan to eat. Some of the Na'vi's told stories, some danced by the fire. Mireya rested her head against Neteyam's shoulder as she ate her food and watched her sister fall in love even more with Lo'ak. Rotxo and Kiri spoke in hushed tones, Spider entertained Tuk, and Ao'nung was speaking to a girl by the fire. Mireya had never seen her brother smile so wide at a girl before, not even looked at a girl that way before. She smiled softly and her heart swelled at the scene, her eyes watering.
"What is it, Ma Rey?" Neteyam asked her and wiped away one of the tears that rolled down her cheek.
"I'm ready, Ma Teyam." Mireya whispered to him and Neteyam's tail moved rapidly and wrapped itself around her back. He nodded and pecked her lips and took her hand in his. They discarded their food and the two ran off into the forest, Neteyam held onto her tightly as he took her to a spot where there was deciduous greenery and trees with tendrils.
