"Charlie. Wake up. Babe, we're about to land."
I open my eyes slightly and squint at Tony as he gently shakes my shoulder, attempting to get me moving.
"I only just went to sleep. We can't be there yet" I mumble as my eyes start closing again.
"Charlie" Tony says, kissing me lightly on the cheek.
"What?" I mumble, still not quite awake enough to make sense of the situation.
"We land in like 5 minutes. You need to fasten your belt."
I fumble around and after a moment, feel a hand fastening the belt that I'm too tired to focus on. I mumble a vague "thank you" and fall back asleep once again.
"Charlie. Come on. We need to go. Everyone's left. Up, up, up."
I shake my head, happy enough asleep here. I feel my belt being unfastened and a pair of arms pick me up. I snuggle into Tony's chest, making him laugh quietly, as he carries me off the plane. I hear him mumble a thanks to someone - possibly one of the air stewards - and I feel the temperature around me change as we enter the arrivals lounge. I hear a voice call out to us and squint up at Mike.
"Hi" I mumble, making them both laugh. Tony gently sets me down, making me groan from the effort of having to keep myself upright. He puts his arm around my shoulders and leads me to some seats.
"Wait here while I get our bags" he says, kissing my forehead. I nod and look around as the guys walk off. The last time I was here was almost 6 years ago, when I came here for college. Now it's going to be my home, permanently. I feel a small smile appear on my face. After the dark days and hours I've endured over the last few years, it feels good to have something to smile about. I watch the people in the airport. People watching has always been fascinating to me, trying to come up with reasons why they're where they are.
Are they off on holiday? Work? Meeting a loved one? A secret rendezvous? I lose track of everything around me as I watch the people around me going about their everyday business.
"Charlie, Mike's going to get his car and meet us out the front, ok?"
I nod and smile almost shyly up at Tony. He reaches his hand out to me and I take hold as he pulls me up out of the seat.
He takes my small bag and I look around for the rest of my stuff.
"Mike took it to the car already" he says as he sees my confused expression.
We get in Mike's car and he drops us off at Tony's house not too long after. I thank him and give him a hug before he goes, leaving Tony and I alone together. He takes my bags and suitcase through to his room and shows me where the bathroom is. I saw the guitar I bought him for our first Christmas in his room and smile as I reach up to the necklace he bought me. I've never taken it off.
"Are you hungry?" he asks. I shake my head. My appetite has been atrocious since that day. The day I found my mam. I eat only when I actually start to feel ill from not eating and that is forced more often than not. I know it's not healthy but what can I do? If I try forcing myself to eat at any other time, I gag.
Tony goes through to the kitchen and makes himself a sandwich as I lie on his huge bed, relishing the comfortable mattress that was like sleeping on a huge marshmallow. I hear Tony laughing as I flail around and he jumps onto the mattress next to me, pinning me down with his lips as he kisses me tenderly. I wrap my arms around his neck, drawing him as close to me as I possibly can.
