It might be beautiful here, but it's not as beautiful as Charlie. I glance at the woman I call my wife as we walk back to the villa and feel my heartbeat speed up just from looking. She catches me and pulls tongues, making me laugh. I pick her up and start running while she screams with happiness, a huge smile on her perfect face. We reach the door of the villa and I put her down to open up. She pushes me through the door and in seconds is sitting on the couch with her feet up.
"Are you ok?" I ask, concerned that all our physical activity has made her legs hurt. She looks at me and nods, a smile on her face. I close the door and sit next to her, my arm around her shoulders.
"Shall we go exploring after lunch?" I ask and Charlie's eyes light up as she nods.
"What shall we do until lunchtime?" is the next question out of my mouth. She grins and moves so that she is straddling me on the sofa. She grinds against me and I feel my body reacting to her. I pull her dress up and over her head and she's not wearing a bra so I take her breast in my mouth, nibbling and sucking at it. She gasps as my hand finds the other one and gently kneads it. She stands up, pulling me with her and kisses me passionately as she undoes my pants and slides them and my boxers down before pulling off my shirt and gently pushing me back down onto the couch. She straddles me once again, this time sliding down with me inside her, her thong pushed to one side. The look of bliss on her face is beautiful. She is beautiful in so many ways. She slowly rises up and down on me, each movement bringing a look of ecstasy to her face. I pull her body closer to mine and our chests are touching, causing her nipples to get even harder. She moans in pleasure at the contact and lowers her lips to mine, nibbling gently on my lower lip as she rises up. I gasp at the sensation and she giggles lightly as she does it again. It's not long before we are both sweating and our bodies are gliding together as we come within seconds of each other. Charlie rests her head on top of mine as we catch our breath then out of nowhere she starts sobbing.
"Charlie, princess, what's wrong?" I say, attempting to sooth her. I gently rub her back as her tears fall but it's not helping. She quickly climbs off my lap and runs to the bathroom and I am chasing after her within seconds. She's sitting on the floor, her knees drawn up to her chest and her head on her knees. I gently pick her up and carry her through to the bedroom, where I put her on the bed and hold her to me. After a few minutes the sobbing starts to subside and Charlie starts mumbling away.
"What if we never have our own baby? What if no-one else is willing to be a surrogate for us or the adoption agencies turn us away because of our jobs or the way we look. It's not fair on you that my body is screwed up" she mutters.
"I told you already, it's not the end of the world. We will have each other at least and that is so important to me, Charlie. Stop blaming yourself when it isn't your fault."
I push her hair off her face and I know inside she's still hurting over losing David and over Alysha not being able to be our surrogate.
"It'll be ok" I whisper as I hold her close.
We must have both dozed off as when I open my eyes the sun is much brighter. I glance at my phone and see it's 1:30 in the afternoon.
"Charlie" I whisper, trying to get her attention. She moans as she opens her eyes, blinking a couple of times.
"What time is it?" she asks so I tell her. She sits up and stretches, her eyes still puffy from earlier. I watch as Charlie stands up and walks to the bathroom. I hear the water running and assume she's having a shower so I quickly dress and wander through to the lounge. Not long after, Charlie joins me, her dress from earlier being replaced by shorts and a bikini top. She hasn't showered by the looks of it but her eyes look less red.
She holds her hand out to me and leads me outside and we walk back to the restaurant for a late lunch. We don't go far after that, just roaming around the complex and the beach. By early evening, Charlie is starting to slow down so we head back to the villa and order food in. We sit on the verandah to eat, listening to the waves crashing on the beach and the birds singing. This is almost paradise as far as I'm concerned.
We make love again several times that night before sleep catches up with us again and by the next morning, I'm feeling pretty refreshed. Charlie still looks exhausted though and I think she needs a day here to catch up but she insists we have to do something.
We walk down to the main office and I ask about hiring a car. At least then Charlie won't be walking as much.
She grabs a couple of touristy leaflets and when she sees one about Jurassic Park, I know where she wants to go. We follow the directions on the map and the scenery is out of this world. I take a photo of Charlie standing in a dinosaur footprint, a huge smile on her face that doesn't quite reach her eyes. I feel so sad inside that I can't do anything more to help her but I hope she is going to be ok more than anything I've ever hoped before.
