( *ੈ✩‧₊˚ ) I WALKED INTO THE CITY HALL AUDITORIUM, WHERE the suprisingly small award ceremony was being held. The room was decorated in blue and red colours, with rows of foldable chairs filling half the room. A stage was opposite the large double doors, with a banner that says 'CONGRATULATIONS CAPTAIN MAN AND KID DANGER' with decent pictures of them in their signature poses lining the sides. Okay fine, i'll admit i think Henry looks great. Everyone was already settled down and the vice-mayor had begun speaking. Henry made eye contact with me from the stage and gives a small knowing chuckle. Busted.
Usually i don't go for these things, because i would plainly just be watching my Dad flirt with the lady who gives out the awards, which is Miss Swellview, its terrifying. But this time i'm here for Henry. He said he would like it if i was present, because i was the first person who was there to help him with this whole new super sidekick thing he has. Who am i to not fulfil the wishes of the city's favourite super sidekick, so here i am. okay fine, i really wanted to be here..
Charlotte spots me and waves me over, giving me the 'finally, you're here' look that i see way too often. i wasn't that late!
"okay, okay i'm sorry." i grumbled before settling beside Piper.
Jasper opened his mouth, but I glared pointedly at the boy making him close his mouth like a goldfish. "jasper. for the last time. i look like this EVERYDAY."
"And so my Swellviewians, as Vice Mayor of this fine city, I am proud to present these medals of recognition for bravery and community service, to our very own Captain Man and Kid Danger!"
The three of us and Piper applauded. I was really proud, not just of my Dad but extremely proud of Henry. I honestly never thought Henry would've lasted. He looked through the crowd to spot familiar faces and we made eye contact.
I smiled warmly at the two most important males in my life. I mouthed "proud of you Kid Danger."
Henry grinned and mouthed back "thank you Mar."
"Oh and please accept this coupon for one free, medium, frozen yogurt." The vice mayor continues before handing the coupon to my Dad and Henry.
"wow!" Dad speaks, fake enthusiasm oozing everywhere.
"Each?" Henry asks, hopeful.
"No you have to split the yogurt." The vice mayor states before backing up.
Dad walks up to the podium to begin the 'wonderful' speech he had came up with.
