YESTERDAY, EBONI SAID 3 WORDS I will never forget. I love you. It felt as if my life was finally complete. I finally had gotten the genuine love I have wished for.
I laid in bed with a smile, a smile that hasn't gone away since yesterday. That moment kept replaying in my head over & over.
I am snapped out of my thoughts when someone suddenly bursted into my bedroom, startling me. I sat up & looked at the person, Zuri.
"Yes ankle biter?" I teased & she scoffed.
"We are leaving-" I cut her off.
"You are going to New York, yes I know." I rolled my eyes & she just smiled. She has been talking my ear off for the past 3 days about New York.
Buffalo, New York is where Emilio & I are from. When our mom & our sister went missing, we moved out of New York & moved to Seattle.
I'm not going because there's too many bad memories there & I have yet to heal from the loss I suffered. I'd rather stay in Toronto, away from it.
Zuri closed my bedroom door & walked over to me jumping on my bed. She sat at the end of my bed, beside my feet. She then randomly pinched my big toe through my sock making me kick her in the leg.
"Ow bitch! You rice skinned mothafucka!" She shouted & I scoffed.
"I should say ow you hairless camel!" I shouted back & she gasped in disbelief. We just looked at each other before bursting into laughter.
After a few seconds, we stopped & just stared at each other. Suddenly a smile formed on my lips remembering Eboni's words. Zuri saw my smile & cocked an eyebrow in question,
"Talk." She said & my smile grew.
"She said I love you to me yesterday." I whispered & Zuri nearly fell back, but I grabbed her ankle quickly before she could fall.
I pulled her up & she just looked at me with parted lips & wide eyes.
"Yes!" She screamed at the top of her lungs & i scrunched up my face at how loud she just screamed.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" She screamed, her voice cracking making me cover my ears.
"Ew, I just cringed at the crack of my voice." She laughed & I snorted.
