Chapter 33-New earth

As the storm around the launch facility dies down nagate and izana stand outside as they hold a small open-air Viking funeral for his father. As they stand outside nagate looks at his fathers' body on top of a wood stack floating away on small sailing boat with tears coming down his face then as he looks up, he pulls out a bow and arrow he found in one of the storage areas of the facility. As he lights the tip of the arrow in the fire izana comes up from behind and lights hers as well then at the same time they pull back the cords back on their bows then just after they release their bows memories of his father flood nagates head as he watches the arrows land on the boat and set it on fire.

As he watches the boat burn nagate drops the bow then as he walks forward with tears, he says I'm sorry dad if I...If I had known sooner you would have...As nagate studders to talk izana puts her hand on his shoulder making him notice as he sees her with tears then he turns around to hug her. Izana-I'm so sorry nagate. Nagate-Its ok izana. For all its worth I'm glad I got to know my father even was for a short time. Izana-But aren't you worried that your mom might be gone too. Nagate replies Ah little then he takes her hand and says but remember what my dad said. I already have a family that loves and cares about me. And I want us to return to Sidonia someday to see yuhata, tsumugi, maya and everyone. As izana tears up she replies I've been waiting for you to say that for so long then she kisses him with a smile then as they look at each other izana says let's go finish getting ready it's time we get you back to your universe to save your people. Nagate replies right then they head back to the locker room to finish suiting up. After they check their gear, they then head to the fighter still parked in the hanger and as nagate gets into the cockpit izana asks you think you can fly this. Nagate replies seems easy enough to fly. Izana replies ok then she gets into the back copilot seat and as the systems come online, she says I'm all good back here nagate. Ready to launch.

As nagate says alright let's do this the fighter lurches forwards on a lift and as it is brought to a launch tube nagate notices the picture of his mother and father with him as a baby making him smile then as it is lifted upwards the doors going to the surface open up with lights coming on then as the silo door closes sealing the tube the sr-78 engines come to life along with small rockets attached to it and lifts the fighter upwards in to the tube towards the surface. As it exits the tube it accelerates further nagate activates the atmosphere engine attached to the fighter below the hull. As the fighter flies up nagate and izana hold on to the seats tightly then as they exit the atmosphere the computer says stage separation in 3.2.1 stage separation. The smalls rockets and atmosphere engine detach from the fighter then as nagate levels out the fighter he turns it towards lems star. Nagate-Alright izana this is it. Izana-How fast do we need to go in order to collect the dimension energy? Nagate-From what it says on my dad's onboard computer we need to reach mach 6 hyper speed. Izana-Wait mach 6 hyper speed won't we black out from going that fast. Nagate-The inertial dampeners should prevent that, but I can't be a hundred percent shore we might black out from the speed...You still with me izana? Izan tightens her belt then with a series voice says all the way making nagate smile then as he grabs the thruster controls, he says here we go and as he pushes it forward the fighter speeds away towards the sun. Back on Sidonia the crew rejoice as they have won the war against the gauna, but some are still sad over the loss of nagate and izana. As for Yuhata she is in tsumugi rooms and is sad after hearing the bad news for tsumugi.

Yuhata-What do you mean tsumugi body isn't healing? Yuri-Who ever tampered with tsumugi's healing tube put some kind of biologic virus preventing her from healing. Yuhata-No it can't be...is there a way to reverse the damage? Yuri-I'm not shore but we're going to do everything we can to save her. Yuhata smiles then says thank you Yuri and hugs her making Yuri hug her back. As they let go yuhata gets a call from the bridge asking her to come immediately and as she heads off Yuri calls Sasaki saying she may have a way to save tsumugi. As yuhata gets to bridge she yells out what's going on? Crew-Somethings launched from lem seven and is heading to lems sun. Crew-Wait it can't be. Yuhata-What is it? Crew-I'm detecting the life signals of pilots nagate and izana. Yuhata replies wait what then she looks at the monitor to see the fighter accelerate towards the sun and says how are they alive? Open up a communication with that ship. Crew-Were trying mam but none of our communication channels are syncing up with the ship. Crew-What's the ship doing? Why is it going around the sun? As tears form in yuhata eyes she says it's because nagate is collecting the energy he needs to go home...make way near lems star let's give nagate a small send off. Crew-Yes mam. As the Sidonia proceeds forward nagate continues circling around the star then once they reach mach 6 lightspeed izana says were at mach 6 lightspeed im lowering the collectors. Small solar power collectors' lower underneath it and start to collect the dimension energy but as they collect it both their visions start to go blurry due to the speed then they hear the computer say dimension battery fully charged and g.u.c is locked on to universe 7652. As nagate is about to push the lever to activate the dimension drive he begins to blackout from the speed but then all of ah sudden he feels a hand on his shoulder. As he turns, he is shocked to see his izana from his universe appear before him in the white and black dress. As tears roll his eyes izana floats over and as she sits on his lap nagate studders izana I...I'm so sorry then with a smile izana puts her hands on his cheeks and says its ok nagate. I may not be here, but I will always love you nagate.As they put their heads together, they both shed tears then just after she disappears nagate quickly pushes the second lever making the computer say engaging dimension drive.
