I was being crushed.
Aliens moved all around me. Every time one so much as grazed me it felt like a bone inside me shattered. The aliens moved at a normal human pace, but their movements had the strength of freight trains behind them.
A scream built up in my throat. I trapped it there and refused to let out. I couldn't let anyone know I was different.
I did my best to keep a straight face, but my eyes were watering and my lips had skipped past quivering and were twitching violently as they tried to release sobs and screams all at once.
I was going to die.
With each alien that bumped into me I felt myself break a little more.
The next bump sent me to the ground.
Nobody noticed.
The aliens trampled me without so much as a glance.
The world went dark.
