CHAPTER 2
“Welcome sa condo ko!” Maya welcomed Richard when they got home.
“Ang kalat naman.” Richard teased.
“Oy! Masamang manglait!” Maya exclaimed.
“Joke lang! Peace tayo, Maya.” He said, then he smiled, but it did not reach his eyes.
“Oh? Bakit mukhang pagod ka na?”
“Using my gift so many times today was exhausting. Hindi ko alam na ganito pala ang epekto nun.” He said as he sat down on the couch.
“Oy, sorry ha? Alam ko na ipagluluto kita!” Maya said and quickly stood up.
“Maya! Nagjo-joke ka ba?” Richard said.
“Hindi! Ipagluluto talaga kita. Promise ‘yan. Wait ka lang.”
“Maya! I can’t intake food. I’m an angel remember? I’m technically what you call dead.”
“Ay! Oo nga no. Ehh paano yun? Pano babalik yung dati mong lakas?”
“Iidlip lang ako. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Ay sige lang. Kakain lang ako ng dinner ha?”
Richard nodded and closed his eyes.
Maya did all of her routine. She ate dinner, took a quick shower then returned to the living room where she left Richard. He’s still sleeping. Maya decided to bring out her phone and take a picture of her angel.
Her phone is now on camera function but when she focused it on his face, she cannot see him on her phone.
“Ha? Bakit ganun?”
She tried it again and again, but failed each time.
“Anghel nga kasi, Maya. Wag makulit.”

Richard’s mind was back in heaven. He’s in the same place where he was before.
“O, Richard, why are you back? Hindi mo pa naman naaalala ang past mo ah.” The voice said.
“I’m just here to recharge. Nalimutan kong ganun nga pala ka-hassle sa Earth.” Richard answered as he sat on the floor.
“So, how do you find your mortal, Son?”
Richard smirked. “She’s amusing but she’s always busy. There are so many stuffs she needed to do. And her boss, do you know him? He’s so tough on the outside, and he has this stern look on his face but .. but when I looked into his heart …”
“Looks can be quite deceiving, eh Richard? Humans are one of the most enjoyable creatures I have created. You see, they are so good at adopting things. Na nagagawa nilang magpanggap just so others cannot see what they really feel.”
“Why are they like that? Why are we like that?”
“I just simply created you. You yourselves make everything complicated.”
Richard smirked. “Touche.”
“You need to go back now, Son. Your mortal might need you.”
Richard nodded and closed his eyes. “Thank you, Lord.”
