CHAPTER 4
Maya woke up feeling determined and all. She had a good night sleep especially when she dreamt that God talked to her and asked her to help Richard.
“Good morning Richard!” she greeted him.
“Good morning. Bakit ang taas ng energy mo?” Richard wondered.
“Wala lang! Kailangan ba laging may dahilan?”
“Uhm, no? What happened Maya? You’re making me worry.”
“Asuuus! Ang sweet sweet naman ng guardian angel ko. Maliligo lang ako tapos aalis na tayo.”
“Aalis? San tayo pupunta?”
“Gagawin yung misyon mo.”
“But Maya –“
“No buts, anghel kong singkit! Maliligo na ko, bawal pumasok sa cr ha!”
Maya took a bath and ate breakfast quickly. She was all set when she saw Richard deep in thought and staring outside the window.
“Richard! Tara na!” she said.
Richard turned to look back at her and raised his brows.
“At saan mo balak mag-umpisang maghanap?”
“Ha? Eh di .. “
“See? I don’t even know kung saan ako magsisimula, because I don’t have my memory. Kaya can we please just stay? Hindi naman ako nagmamadali.”
“Gusto lang naman kitang tulungan Richard eh.” She simply answered.
Richard smiled warmly at her. “You’re already helping me by always being here by my side.”
Maya couldn’t explain why but her heart fluttered with what she heard.
“Ehh .. o sya, magtatrabaho na lang ako. May kailangan ka bang gawin?” she asked him.
“Wala naman. I’m just here to protect you.”
Maya’s heart fluttered again.
Maya, ano bang nangyayari sa’yo? Kinikilig ka ba sa anghel mo?
Hindi hindi. Erase! Erase!
She looked at Richard again, who’s out in the balcony of her condo, sitting at the railings.
Can you stay forever, Richard?

Throughout the day, Maya busied herself through her work. She called every person and every personnel who can help her with the details of Roberto’s project to her. She wants her report to be perfect down to the very last detail. Maya would occasionally stand up to get coffee and to have a bathroom break but she doesn’t notice the time that passed by.
Richard, on the other hand, is just watching the world from his position. Maya’s condo is located on the 8th floor, making him see Manila from above. He observed cars beeping, smokes are everywhere and people walking so fast as if they are always late. He would sometimes ask himself if he was like that when he was still alive, if he still has time for his family.
Do I even have a family? Do I have a girl friend? A wife, even? How about kids?
Richard’s mind seems to be thinking on its own. And as he was thinking, he hadn’t noticed that he fell from the railings on Maya’s balcony.
“Richaaaard!!!” Maya quickly went to the balcony when she saw Richard fall.
“Richaard!!!” Maya is almost into tears. She can’t see her angel.” She kept looking down as if searching if her angel left some trail.
“Richaaard!! Asan ka na?”
“I’m here.” Maya was startled when she heard his voice. He is standing on the edge of the railing, looking at her.
“Nakakabuwiset ka, alam mo ba ‘yun?” Maya said, her tears are now falling.
“Bakit?” he amusingly asked. “Saka bakit ka naiyak?”
“Ehh akala ko kasi nawala ka na nung nahulog ka eh!” she said as she wipes her tears.
“I have wings diba?” he answered.
“Sige mang-asar ka pa! Nag-aalala na nga sa’yo yung tao eh!”
