Narration

The two bands stood backstage while waiting for their turn to perform. Reverie and Serendipity were both scheduled to perform for approximately 45 minutes each. Reverie performing first and Serendipity followed shortly after.

There was tension between the two bands making the few minutes backstage together awkward, but there was a different type of tension between the two guitarists that nobody noticed but them.

While watching their rival band perform, Joy couldn't help but notice the obvious glances Ford was giving her as he sang the lyrics to 'Friends' by Chase Atlantic, specifically the verses "tell me we weren't just friends, this doesn't make much sense." She felt more tension as he sang 'One Night Stand' by FourPlay MNL. Making sure to make direct eye contact with her while he sang the chorus. She smirked and ignored the butterflies going crazy in her stomach.

"Two can play that game, Villanueva" she thought to herself.

As Reverie made their way backstage Joy felt the soft touch of Ford's pinky finger brush against hers. Despite the tension between them, she still remained a poker face until she got on stage.

Serendipity started with the song 'Dress' by Taylor Swift, making sure to do exactly what Ford was doing to her as she sang the lyrics "only bought this dress so you could take it off." They ended their set with 'I Wanna Be Yours' by Arctic Monkeys, making sure to sing in her lower register that made the fans go wild. Him being her biggest fan, he was going insane.

She did the same to him as they walked off stage, like a silent reminder and warning of what they would both do about the tension in the air.

They thought their little glances at each other would go unnoticed by their members, but they were wrong. One watched in amusement after seeing them in action earlier, but the other watched in confusion and made a mental note to ask her bandmate what the hell was going on between them.
