Narration

Ford walked towards his car but stopped once seeing the girl sitting on the sidewalk beside it. She had her head down on her knees and Ford heard small sobs coming from her. He realized that this was his rival, the very same girl who was just performing her heart out on stage, the girl that had him mesmerized during their whole set.

The girl who looked untouchable on stage was now in front of him seconds away from breaking completely like a fragile piece of glass. He didn't know why but a part of him wanted to protect her and make sure she never broke.

He gently tapped her shoulder and she slowly looked up, her tear stained face broke his heart and he couldn't explain why. So he did what he knew what to do best.

"Gusto mo umalis muna? May alam ako na spot that I think you'll like." he told her. He saw her hesitate for a moment and he knew it himself that it would be alarming if a stranger suddenly asked you to go with them somewhere late at night. To his surprise she nodded and slowly stood up.

The drive together was not as awkward as he thought it would be. He played happier songs in the car to lighten up the mood and it seemed to work because she had stopped crying.

They arrived at his favourite spot in the world that overlooked the city. His favourite place to escape to that not even his bandmates knew, but for some reason, he wanted to share it with her.

They got out of the car and stood quietly side by side until he decided to break the silence.

"Ford pala. Ford Villanueva of Reverie." he introduced himself, holding out his hand. She hesitantly shook his hand before introducing herself.

"Joy Cerezo. Uhm of Serendipity." she told him quietly.

"Favour please?" he asked her. She raised an eyebrow at him before giving him an accusing look.

"Not like that." he chuckled while shaking his head.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Tulungan mo ako kantahin yung No Erase." she furrowed her eyebrows at his strange request but he only smiled at her before playing the song from his car.

"Game na ba?" he sang.

"Ano na." she replied awkwardly.

"Sure na ba?"

"Sige na."

"Ang ayoko lang naman ma feel out of place." he sang.

They continued to sing the rest of the song together and Joy couldn't help smiling at his silliness. She didn't think that a mere song from one of her favourite movies could be the reason that she forgot the heartbreak and heavy feeling in her heart. That a mere stranger she was competing with hours ago would give her a reason to smile again. The boy who slid the small piece of tissue with a song on it was now standing beside her and giving her yet another midnight memory.
