The great dragon lay on the stony floor of the bottomless abyss, it is bottomless but yet he still found a floor to sit on. he will still fall, just like he did awhile ago, he couldn't remember how many years has past since his last fall, he wondered if this floor would hold longer than the last. eternity has gone by but he was the only one still left. the last great dragon. he does not die even if he wished and begged for death, he desperately seek death, he welcomed it but death rejected him just like the queen did.
The queen, a thousand years is a lot of time to hate someone, it took a lot to hold a grudge this long and that makes him hate her even more. he had thought of a billion ways to kill her and every single one of them satisfying. the pain he felt, the agony, there is nothing left, he is numb to it all. all that remains is his need for vengeance, to tear the queen limb for limb, to rip her apart into tiny little pieces. these were his thoughts for a thousand years, he have hated her for a thousand years and he will hate her for a thousand more.
The great dragon hated the cramped space of the well, no space to move or spread his wings, he was alone in his lonely prison, until a small boy was thrown into the abyss. the boy, a fragile little thing, skinny, more bones than flesh. his innocent eyes looked at him with intent. this little boy should be scared but no he wasn't. what has he done to have the queen punish him this way.
"what did you do?" he asked the little boy who replied with nothing but silence "can't you speak?" he glared
the little boy opened his mouth but no sound came out, his tongue was severed. the little boy open a little parchment paper showing the dragon what was written on it. "you are my food" the dragon seethe with anger, the queen is so desperate to break him but he won't give in, not now and not in a thousand years. "don't worry I won't eat you"
And so they lived, dragon and the little boy, the dragon in an act of mercy used his last bit of magic to grow back the boy's tongue. they lived in their stone well prison but unlike the dragon the little boy was not immortal. he died from malnutrition. the dragon lived with the boy's corpse until the floor caved and they both went falling down into the abyss, his chains clicking against the stone wall as they fell. before they got to the next floor the boy's corpse has fully depreciated into nothing. the dragon never once shared a tear, not for the boy. not for himself.
As time went on, the loneliness and silence drove the great dragon mad. he felt nothing but his need for vengeance. the intense feeling was the only thing keeping the last thread of his sanity. when he gets his chance he will burn the world, raze it to the ground till there is nothing left but pain, destruction, fire and brimstone. the great dragon who was once a protector of all that is good in the kingdom of Rutagon will rise as the destroyer of all things good or evil. living or dead. he will bring down hell because hell has no fury than a dragon's scorn.
