Justina had never been a believer of things unseen, she believes in things that she can see, fairytales are beautiful because it's just tales. Her teacher once asked her "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Her reply "nothing". She couldn't see her future so she doesn't know what would become of her life. She guessed she should have thought long and hard before answering her teacher because here she stand in an empty basement wondering how she got here.
"He isn't here" she said sadly, her eyes scanning the musky room.
"Maybe he is somewhere else in the building" Elliott said gripping his sword tightly. Wasim said nothing as he walked over to the wall and placed his hand on it feeling for something
"Something is behind this wall" he said "stand back"
"Here" said Lilith handing Justina a claw knife as they step back. "We don't know what's behind the wall"
"And you want me to use this how?" Justina asked unamused
"It has always been your weapon of choice. Something about how you like to look into your opponent eyes as you impale their heart"
"Huh?"
"Ready?" Asked Wasim. Without waiting for a reply "ut effringerent" the wall blast open revealing an empty large room. Justina shrieked in surprise, okay now she is definitely sure it's the other option
"Come on" said Lilith as they walked into the room. She quickly followed after them, her eyes tried to get acquainted with the darkness. The light came on unexpected blinding her, she raised her hand to cover her eyes "Dir'enek" hissed Lilith. Her eyes slowly adjust to the light "watch yourself" said Lilith as she grabbed a giant lizard scorpion thing and threw it at the wall.
"What was that?" Asked Justina scared out of a mind
"That is a Dir'enek" said Elliott walking backwards towards them "they are everywhere"
"Stay together" said Wasim as he murmured some words and a circle of fire surrounds them. Justina looked at the thing trying to cross the fire but couldn't, it has the body of a lizard and the tail of a scorpion, it has scales the colour of mud, about the same size with a poodle. There are about dozens of them circling around the fire
"Don't let the size fool you, they are nasty little things" said Lilith
"Ti" said a voice beyond the light
"Justin" she yelled about to run off
"Don't, unless you want to get shredded to pieces" said Lilith "let me" she winked as she stepped over the circle of fire
"No!" Cried Justina, she doesn't want anyone getting hurt because of her.
"Hush now, she will be alright" said Wasim calmly like he is not being hounded by a bunch of weird lizards
Justina eyes followed Lilith as she shrieked at the creatures, they all snapped their heads towards her, running at her with full speed, she snarled at them and they stopped. She bend down to pet one of the creature, Justina made a face of disgust.
"there there, now make yourself useful and get back to wherever you came from" they disappeared one by one until there is none left.
The warlock murmured a few words and the circle of fire slowly diminished.
"You really are the mother of demons, aren't you?" Smiled Elliott
"The kiddies love me" shrugged Lilith
"Those were demons?" Asked Justina shocked out of her not so sane mind
"Lesser demons, errands boys if you will, sent to do the dirty work" Lilith said as her eyes scan the room
"Sent by who?" Asked Justina, she isn't curious to know, she is scared to know. what is going on?
"I believe we are about to find out" said Wasim as someone stepped into the light
"Justin" yelled Justina as her brother walked in on shaky legs, she made an attempt to run to him but Lilith held her back. Again.
Four other people walked into the light, one had a knife to Justin's neck
"I heard someone had the power to control demons, I never knew it was true, I guess seeing is believing huh" said one of the four men, he looked well built.
"Hand over the boy and we will be out of your hair" said Elliott holding tightly to his sword
"You must be the great knight Sir Elliott" he said. His eyes travelled to Wasim "and you the high warlock. It's an honour to be in the presence of such great legends" he bowed mockingly
"You know of us?" The warlock asked with his usual calmness
"Any supernatural creature worth his salt knows the legend of Rutagon" he said blatantly "the dragon will raise again bringing fire, destruction and brimstone"
"What do you want with the boy?" Asked Elliott
"Sir Elliott, I want what we all want, peace"
"Peace?" Asked Lilith.
"Yes demon, peace"
"I'm not a demon" Lilith whispered to Justina who is trying to keep up with the conversation while keeping eye contact with her brother, she need to make sure he is okay. Well giving the circumstances, okay is relative.
"How do you wish to achieve this peace?" The warlock asked
"By killing the dragon" he said with confidence. Lilith burst into laughter startling everyone but Wasim. She laughed herself to the brink of tears while everyone waited for her to finish.
"I can't believe you think you can kill that which cannot be killed" chuckled Lilith after calming down from her high
"Oh I can demon lady"
"Not a demon" whispered Lilith to Justina . She nodded her head indicating she got it. She doesn't have to whisper every time her brother's kidnappers calls her a demon
"All I have to do is slit his throat"
Justina wince as she felt a slight ting of pain on her neck, she looked at the knife on her brother's throat to see blood dripping down his neck
"Hey careful" glared Lilith
"The dragon is not with us" said Wasim
"Of course he is not, because he is with me"
Justina had never been the smart twin but she could understand vaguely what is being said and it sound utterly bogus "you think my brother is a dragon?"
