It's been a few months since everything happened, Alastair and I made it official that we were actually together, for real this time.

I walk downstairs to the kitchen and see Claire and Cesare there "Why did no one tell me Alastair's birthday was coming up?" I asked, the both of them look at me, Claire clears her throat "Well, Alastair doesn't celebrate his birthday." She tells me, and I stare at her

"What? Why, it's his twenty-first birthday" I frowned, making her sighed "That's something you should ask him, not me." She tells me, I huff out a breath "Well, we need to do something for his birthday, please." I say making the both of them stare at each other "You know what, let's do it!" Cesare says and I smiled

"Just saying, he might hate this." Claire tells us, Cesare shrugged and I smiled "So, what can we do?" I asked.

I figured out what I can get Alastair for his birthday, it's not easy shopping for him, but I tried and I hope he likes it.

I walk downstairs and see Claire and Cesare still there, he's talking to her and it seems like- well she isn't really listening to him, he frowns when he realizes she's not paying attention anymore.

"So..what kind of cake should we make?" I asked them, Cesare shrugged and Claire turns towards us "Probably Vanilla, that's what our mother used to make us." She says and I nod my head, vanilla cake it is.

"I can make it?"

"Make what?"

I jump at the sound of Alastair's voice, glaring at him "You need to stop sneaking up on me, muffin" I said, making him nod slowly "What are you guys doing?" He asked wrapping his arm around my waist "Well-" I look at Claire and Cesare for help

"We're making voodoo-" Claire cuts Cesare off by slapping his shoulder making him jump "Seriously? Voodoo dolls?" She says, he smiled and shrugs, Claire rolls her eyes and walks out the back door and Cesare follows after her.

Alastair turns me around to look at him

"Hi, muffin!"

"Hey, sweetheart."

I smiled at him and he kisses my lips quickly "What are you planning, amore?" He asked and I shrugged "Can't tell you that" I say and he nods his head slowly

I move my hair out of my face and look at Alastair "I heard your birthday is coming-" he cuts me off "We're not doing anything." I frowned at him sentence "But you're turning twenty-one, and I've heard it's a big deal." I say and Alastair nods his head slowly "Well, I don't care to celebrate it." He says walking over to the counter and I stare at him

"Alastair-"

"Nothing good happens that day."

He tells me, I stare at Alastair- well his back, I walk towards him and stand next to him "What's happened on your birthday?" I asked him, he takes a deep breath, shutting his eyes

"At the age of ten, my father beat the shit out of my mother in front of me to 'toughen' me." He says, my eyes widened "At the age of thirteen, he made me kill the pet we once had." There was more? I slowly reach for his hand, when he doesn't pull away, I hold it.

"Why?" I asked him, Alastair looks at me before looking away "I cared too much for the cat." He tells me, my eyes feel with tears, now it makes sense why he didn't want a cat.

"My eighteenth birthday, this girl I was with died, I was sent the video." He tells me, that's when it hit me. Elliot. This is what he was telling me?

"They shot her six times."

Alastair looks at me now "So, no I won't be celebrating my birthday." He tells and I frown "What if I promise nothing bad will happen that day?" I say, he shook his head "Doesn't matter, something bad always happens on that day." He tells me, I stare at Alastair "I promise not this time, please." I say making him sigh "I don't want a lot of people here." He says and I nod my head "Okay." I smiled at him, pressing my lips to his.

The back door opens and Claire walks in as Cesare follows behind "Can someone please put Cesare on a leash" she glared at him "I didn't do anything wrong" he says, She rolls her eyes "You tried pushing me in the pool."

"No, you tried pushing me in the pool." He tells her making Claire sigh "please, get him a leash and wrap it around his neck." She grits before walking out, which Cesare follows after her.

"They'd be so cute together."

"He better stay the fuck away from her."

Alastair and I say at the same time, I glare at him "He's not doing anything wrong, muffin" I say "Now I don't want to leave them alone." He grumbled before walking out, I sigh rolling my eyes following him out, sitting by the pool with him as Cesare attempts to push Claire in the pool.

I watch closely and notice how hard she's trying to not smile as he tries to push her in, only she ends up pushing Cesare in the pool, when he comes up from the water he glares at her "See, I knew you wanted to push me in." He tells her, Claire rolled her eyes "You've been trying to push me in the pool for the past five minutes." She tells him, Cesare ends up splashing her with the water.

I smiled at them and turned to Alastair "Stop glaring at them, muffin." I say making him sigh, he watches the two mess around, Cesare tries hugging Claire now as she runs away from him.

"I'm calling it, muffin, they'll be soulmates." I smile at Alastair who glared at me "If that happens, he better not fucking hurt her or else I'll-" I cut him off when I see the both of them walking over to us "Hey, what's up?" I asked Claire and Cesare "He won't leave me alone." Claire glared at Cesare who smiled at us then Claire

"Just one hug, that's all." He says, before Claire could say anything he wrapped his arms around her making Claire freeze "Cesare! I am going to murder you." She grits, and as soon as he lets go he runs.

I love Claire and Cesare so much guys, THE black cat and golden retriever couple

Also my wattpad is glitching to the point I can't see what I'm typing at the end of chapters😮‍💨 so if there's mistakes I didn't fix, that's for the authors note mostly

I'm changing next chapter completely so yeah
