When I wake up I realize it's October fourteenth, Alastair's birthday, I rub my eyes and notice his arms wrapped around my waist, I smiled softly, tracing his tattoos on his arms "Morning, sweetheart." Alastair murmured "Happy birthday, muffin!" I smiled at him, he hums "I have to work for a bit today, will you be okay here? Or would you rather come with me?" He asked

This works out perfectly now, because I have to get his birthday gift "No, I'll stay here with Claire" I say and he hums, turning me on my back, kissing my lips, I sigh.

Alastair is now ready for work, and he's making breakfast right now, I see Claire coming downstairs and she looks at me then Alastair "You're working today?" She asked, and he nods "Oh, okay." She said sitting down, he looks over at her confused for a second before handing us the food, grabbing his own "I should be home by eight." He says and I hummed

Claire looks at her phone and rolls her eyes "What's wrong?" I asked "Cesare apparently is coming over, I still don't understand why he has my number." She grumbled turning her phone off.

"You could block him?" Alastair, Claire's hums but doesn't move to grab her phone.

Now that Alastair left, Claire, Cesare and I are going to get Alastair's birthday present, which will hopefully be a dog, I unlock the drivers side of the car Alastair got me, before seeing the fact Cesare is offering Claire the front seat, she rolls her eyes and sits in the back, I notice him frowning before getting in the car.

"Are you okay?" I asked, he nods his head before checking his phone quickly, I sighed and drove to the pet store, I was looking at the dogs they had and found a few, so I'm hoping this will end out perfectly.

We walk in the pet store and get greeted by one of the workers who shows us around, yet Claire separated herself from us to look at the other dogs. "You know, you guys would be cute together." I say, Cesare looks at me, then over to where Claire is "I don't think she wants that." He says sadly, I hummed "Still, it's easy to tell you really like her, Cesare." I tell him.

He smiles softly when he sees a golden retriever dog petting her "I know that you were looking at the husky from the conversation we had over the phone yesterday." The worker says, I stare at the husky who is just a puppy and I stare in awe.

"She's adorable" I say as I pet her, she leans her head into my palm, licking it "She recently went through her second home, the first didn't have the space for her, and the last home was reported for abusing her." The worker said and I frowned "I'll let you choose, if you need me call me over!" They smiled and I nod

"You should get her" Cesare tells me and I stare down at the husky and hum "You seem to like the golden retriever" I say and he smiled, before he can say anything Claire comes over looking nervous "What's wrong?" I asked her, her breathing was heavy "I just- didn't want to be alone.." she says looking around, Cesare stared at her with concern.

"Oh- okay, yeah-" I say, before I can finish my sentence someone else comes over, standing behind Claire "There you are, I was worried you left." They say making her freeze, Cesare and I stare at each other before looking at them, Cesare looks the guy up and down.

"Mason." Claire says and he grinned at her "Hey, cutie, I've missed you." He says to her, making her swallow a lump in her throat "Haven't seen you since I graduated."

"Let's keep it that way."

Cesare says, Claire's eyes widened staring at him confused "Who are you?" Mason says, he looks at Claire then Mason "Her boyfriend." Claire stares at me and I shrugged "Really, cutie? Him?" Mason says to her "Uhm, yeah." She says staring at him, he scoffed "You could do so much better, maybe the guy you actually have a good chance with"
