It's not like she didn't love her job, acting was her passion but shooting for 12 hours continuously was too much even for the prodigy. Yeah she was called as acting prodigy by many film critics. 'Ohh yeah it's a wrap guys, well done everyone' laughed the director dismissing everyone for the day After bidding goodbye to her costar and director, Maya rushed towards her car to go home. 'I got 2 news for you and you have to guess!!' excitedly greeted her assistant Sareena, who was waiting for Maya by her car. 'And great shot by the way, even I teared up a little' she added "Thanks and we are not playing this guessing game, please just tell me" Maya replied tiredly while getting into the car. Sareena's excitement was visible on her face but it was not a news to Maya. Truth be told Sareena got excited for every little thing. Not to get her wrong again Maya appreciated and absolutely adored how Sareena was her personal cheerleader . Probably that's why sareena was her assistant for the last 3 years and she wanted to keep it that way. 'Come on you gotta try' sareena begged. 'No please I beg you just tell me .. is it my invite to the Met gala?' Maya said trying to guess. ' you know what even I can't hold it in! because you are so freaking bad at this game! and yeah you did get the invite but its something else and you gotta look at this' Sareena said while handing her phone to Maya Maya took the phone from sareena's hand, it was a newspaper article she read out loud the headlines ' Maya Dakota contender for best actress at Oscars for her film Leap Year' It took good 2 mins for maya to realize what just happened 'Oh my god!!! is it true? fuck!! yes! yes!' she hugged sareena tightly she couldn't believe what she read. Finally she was reaching where she always wanted to be in life. She was getting the recognition for her work.
"When did this happen and why didn't you inform me right away' Maya asked re-reading the headlines. 'Well you know no cell phone rules near shoot. I am so excited for you, finally no more romance movies. you will now finally get the kind of films you wanted to do' sareena exclaimed. Sareena knew Maya wasn't always thrilled to be doing romance movies all the time , she wanted to explore and prove to her audience that she is a much more versatile actor, and moreover Maya never really had a real relationship it was just some stupid dates here and there. Though its funny how she is nominated for an oscar for a heat wrenching romance movie. Sareena remembers crying and fighting with Maya regarding sad ending of the film. 'Yeah i still can't believe it's finally happening, my heartbeat is so fast' maya said while feeling her heartbeat. ' Sareena thank you! you have a big part in this. You always keep me on my toes, ' Maya said sincerely. She knew Sareena was not just her assistant but also her close friend, who was always there to her rescue whether it was from paparazzi or her stupid boy dates or just being her close confident. 'Come on you pay me so yeah' sareena jokes Maya chucked and looked outside her moving car window she remembered when she came to LA and now finally feels like the city has accepted her.
