Once we both gor ready, we set out and Ollie started driving. While we were driving he asked me to put on a blindfold, which was conveniently in front of my seat.
"Why Ollie?"
"Just do it."
So I put it on, unaware of what was happening. Around 15 minutes later I felt the car stop, and Ollie say
"Get out Bia. But dont take the blindfold off."
He was being extremely mysterious about this, and my mind was filled with a thousand different possibilities of what this dinner date could be, so when Ollie finally said, "ok, go for it.", I was shocked to see what was in front of me.
Ollie was standing in front of a traditional Filipino restaurant.

"I thought we could have a night learning about your heritage. Just me and you, no paparazzi."
I was literally on the verge of tears. I ran up to Ollie and planted a kiss on his cheek. Honestly, he was so sweet.
What hit me even more is that when we were seated and at our small table, he immediately said:
"I am thinking about having the Adobo. Seems like a solid choice."
"Not to be rude, but do you know what Adobo is?" I said with a small giggle, expecting him to crack under the pressure and admit he had no idea.
"It's chicken, simmered in soy sauce and vinegar. It sounds delicious."
So in the end, he decided on the Adobo, and I went for Sinigang, which is a vegetable stew with various meats inside as well.
I was about to order when Ollie stepped in.
"Kamusta. pwede po ba mag order ng adobo at sinigang please?"
He said it in the most broken accent, almost trying to sound Filipino but retaining about 90% of his British accent. Both me and the waiter burst out laughing, as he switched to English and said
"Nice attempt, so Adobo and Sinigang for the lovely couple."
Once the waiter had left, I said to Ollie:
"That was really cute. To be honest, this whole night has been cute. I love that we have come to a filipino restaurant, you learnt all the filipino food, and you tried to order in the filipino language. But you can chill now, ok? You have already gone above and beyond." I said with a giggle.
"So is it a bad time to tell you we are going to the Philippines after the Singapore GP?"
"WHAT?!" I shouted as I spat out my water. "YOU DIDN'T!"
"Oh yes I did. Got in touch with your family too, we are staying with them after Singapore. We are there for a week."
If this night wasn't good enough, Ollie had just sealed the deal with that one sentence. I can't believe that Ollie had even arranged to meet my parents in my home country, without me catching on at all.
We ended the night sitting on a bench, outside of the restaurant, Ollie even planned this restaurant as it had a beautiful view of our town. You could also see Venice in the distance, with its beautiful lights shining through the darkness.
I leaned over to Ollie and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"You are perfect and I love you for it, but I am still going to destroy you this season." I said lovingly.
