To start looking for the person who started the fire, I had Hillary, Makayla, and Anthony come to the hospital. They were going to help me. When they got here, I told them the plan.
"Okay guys, start Googling something like, 'recent fires in Sanston, North Dakota'. If you find anything, look for the culprit's name. Once you find it, shout it out."
I barely finished that last sentence before they were all on their phones.
The first thing I tried was 'firestarter on Efel Street Sanston, North Dakota'. What I got was some guy who makes little firestarters for a living who apparently lives on my street. Then I tried my example, 'recent fires in Sanston, North Dakota'. Before I typed it all in, Hillary yelled, "I found something!"
I jumped out of bed before I remembered my sore legs and feet. I fell backwards onto the bed and Hillary came over to me. She showed me a newspaper article on the fire. I skimmed through it until I saw in bold print, The firestarter is still unnamed and loose among us.
I skipped over the next paragraph telling how to stay safe so I could yell, "DANG IT!!!" Hillary, who is a much slower reader than me, looked at me in confusion until she got to the bold print. "Oh," was all she could say.
I felt defeated, even though we had been searching for only three minutes. This was going to be harder than I thought.
