A New Life

A surgery was done on my legs this morning. They feel a lot better but still hurt now and then. My legs look kind of disfigured, but that doesn't matter right now. My feet are getting surgery next week and my back won't be needing surgery. Only ointment, ice, and rest. The food at the hospital is better than you would think. I actually got blueberry pancakes for breakfast!

I was told I could still use my legs, but not for a month or so. My life was going to change. After the foot surgery, the doctors aren't sure if I will ever be able to walk again. My body would look strange. I hope and pray that everything will be okay and I can still do the things I love.

My three best friends: Hillary, Makayla, and Anthony came to visit me today. When they walked in, the first thing I heard was Anthony gasp. "Is it that bad?" I asked. "Umm...n-no," he answered. He is a terrible liar. Pretty much the whole time they stared at my legs.

Makayla broke the ice and said,"I'm sorry about your parents, Kaniya." She could probably tell I wanted to talk about them. I started crying, and they all jumped on the bed and hugged me. It felt good to have a shoulder to cry on, or three.

Hillary asked how it all happened. I told them what the paramedic told me. As I told it, I got angrier and angrier at the person who started the fire and ruined my life. My friends could obviously tell. Makayla was mad with me, Anthony was worried, and Hillary annouced she was hungry. We walked, well, they pushed me in a wheel chair, to the cafeteria. For lunch, we had spaghetti.

When they left, I was thinking about the accident and the person who started it. If they hadn't been stupid and started the fire, my parents wouldn't be gone and I wouldn't be in a hospital. I vowed I would find this person and make him or her pay.
