Team STRQ's Beacon Days

Chapter 7

Qrow made his way through the Emerald forest, walking past the trees and overgrowth. His only goal in mind was finding Raven. As he walked through some more overgrowth, he came to a clearing where he saw Willow. She turns and the pair make eye contact, and they hold it in silence for a moment before she speaks up. "You seem nice, but I'm looking for Kali. Can we agree that we didn't see each other?"

Qrow chuckles. "Be my guest."

Willow smiles at him, nodding and walking off. Qrow chose to walk in the opposite direction.

As Summer landed, she began running immediately. She had to find someone she knew. She needed to find Tai. Then again, the guy who had flirted with her a bit back on the airship, Qrow, seemed like a good option too. Then again, there was also Maize, Willow, and Kali that she had met last night. Summer did have quite a few options for teammates. She smiled a bit, feeling more confident about having teams. Until she ran into someone, hard enough to know herself off her feet. "S-Sorry, I-" Summer looked up and saw the girl with black hair and red eyes that had been relatively cruel the past few days.

The girl with dark hair rolls her eyes, before turning and beginning to walk off. Summer stands up quickly. "Hey! Wait!" When the girl doesn't stop walking away, Summer sighs. "We're supposed to be teammates..."

Willow walks through the bushes, and comes to a clearing where she sees the girl with red eyes and dark hair that had nearly caused a fight last night. The pair make eye contact, and Willow glares at her. "Hell no. Not a chance."

Raven nods, turning around and walking back to Summer. When Summer sees Raven, her face lights up in excitement. "You came back!"

Raven shakes her head, sighing. "Your name is Summer, right?"

Summer smiles and nods. "Summer Rose. What's your name?"

Raven rolls her eyes, annoyed that she's going to be stuck with this girl for the next four years. "Raven Branwen."

Summer's smile brightens as she hears the last name. "Are you Qrow's sister? I met him on the airship."

Raven nods. "We're twins. And he's a nuisance."

Summer chuckles softly. "You two must share the 'sibling rivalry'?"

"That's one way to put it."

Kali ran through the forest quickly, looking for Willow. She had to find Willow. She finally comes across a girl with white hair, and Willow turns to face her, smiling. "Hey there Kali."

Kali, with no hesitation, runs up and hugs Willow tightly. "I was so scared I wouldn't find you!"

Willow's eyes widen in surprise, but she soon relaxes and returns Kali's hug. "Well, you did. Thank you. I wouldn't have paired up with anyone except for you."

Kali looks up from where she had her face buried in Willow's chest. "You...You truly mean that?"

Willow nods. "Yes Kali, I mean that."

Copper jumps from branch to branch on every tree, searching for another person. She jumps from a high up area, and lands safely onto another tree branch, where she and a girl with orange neon hair and faunus ears make eye contact. The other girl smiles at her. "Hey, I'm Maize! I guess we're partners then, huh?"

Copper smiles and nods. "Guess so. I'm Copper, by the way. Copper Porfirio."

Maize nods. "Well, Copper, I think that's a really pretty name. Any ideas where we can find the temple?"

Copper thinks for a moment. "We were told at the northern end of the forest, so I guess we just head north. But I could climb higher in the tree and see if I can see anything?"

Maize's smile brightens as she nods. "That sounds like a good idea. Want any help?"

Copper shakes her head. "I'll be alright."

Tai is walking quietly through the woods, keeping an eye out for any Grimm. Or people. It doesn't take long for Tai to see Qrow step out from the bushes and smile at him as the pair make eye contact. 

"Good to see ya, Tai."
