Freedom

I stared at the sunlight like a prisoner that was deprived of it for years.

Closing my eyes, I finally exhaled a breath I never knew I was holding in.

My soul finally warm after being cold like the snow for years.

Freedom was finally offered to a soul that was chained in the darkness for too long.

Like a blind man who could finally see again. I admired the beauty of my surroundings. From the light blue sky to the beautiful mountains

From the gentle symphony of the insects to the rustling sound of the leaves.

I drank in every single detail of my surroundings hoping to quench my thirst.

Welcoming the sense of peace and freedom coursing through my veins.

The world never felt as beautiful as today for you are bound to realise the value of something when you lose it.

And here I was today.. Observing every creation of God with immense peace and freedom in my eyes
