"Mom, can I sleep over at Rose's?" I was on the phone with my mom.

"No, you can't!" she said irritably.

"Why not again?!" She keeps forbidding me from doing everything. It's getting on my nerves! "Just because!"

"Give me a reason why I can't go!" I raised my voice.

"Because I said so, now hang up and go home!!" she said.

"Jesus! You..." I heard the call being cancelled. "She hung up!" I looked at the display. Wow, I have such a terrible mom! Someone always manages to upset her, and then I have to suffer the consequences?! I don't care anymore!! I put on my earphones and stepped onto the crosswalk.

I immersed myself in the song. Suddenly, someone bumped into me, and I fell to the ground. My earphones fell out, and I heard a crash. When I turned around, my heart stopped. "Jimin!!" I screamed. He lay motionless on the ground in a pool of blood. The driver got out of the car. I dropped to my knees next to Jimin, checking if he was breathing. He was. A wave of fear engulfed me, and tears streamed down my face. "Call an ambulance, you idiot, why are you just standing there!!" I shouted at the driver. He was in complete shock. "You'll be okay..." my tears fell on his face. I trembled with fear. The ambulance arrived and took him on a stretcher. They didn't want to take me with them. I called Taehyung. I told him everything, crying. He said he would call Jimin's parents and inform the guys, and they would go to the hospital right away. I asked the man if he could take me there, but first, I picked up Jimin's bag that was in the way. The man dropped me off in front of the hospital and sped away. I didn't care now; my only concern was Jimin. I ran inside. The guys were already there; I joined them. Taehyung looked at me.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine, but Jimin isn't!" I felt terrible. I could see in everyone's eyes that they were scared for him.

"What actually happened?" Jin asked.

"I don't even know; I just felt someone pushing me, and then I was on the ground, and I heard a crash," I said. "Oh my God! He saved me! It's all my fault!! I shouldn't have worn those earphones. If I hadn't, this wouldn't have happened!!" I sat on a seat, holding my head and crying. "I need some fresh air," I stood up and went outside the building. It's all my fault!!

"Jen, don't cry..." Tae stood next to me. I looked at him. "Don't worry, everything will be okay, Jimin is strong," he smiled at me.

"But it didn't have to happen! It's all my fault!!" I looked at the ground. He lifted my face.

"Look at me. It's not your fault, it's the driver's fault! Don't cry." He wiped my tears. I hugged him. I needed someone to hold onto.

"Thank you," I whispered. We moved away from each other and went inside.

"How is he?" we asked the guys.

"We don't know; they didn't tell us anything, but they said he's in surgery," Namjoon said. Jimin's parents were leaving; his mom was crying. Thoughts attacked me again that it's all because of me. But it was true; nothing like this would have happened if I hadn't worn those earphones. Besides, my mom told me this morning not to wear earphones while crossing the road. I must be hitting my head against the wall. Oh God, please let Jimin survive. I don't want anything else. I ran after his parents.

"Excuse me, this belongs to Jimin," I handed them his bag.

"Thank you," his father took it.

"I'm sorry for what happened," I said. His mom wiped her tears and nodded. I bowed and joined the guys. I wanted to ask them if they knew his condition, but I figured it wouldn't be good.

"They won't tell us anything today; we'll find out tomorrow," Jin said, he went to ask the nurse. I sat down on a seat. The guys left. I wanted to wait a little longer to find out about his condition. I called Rose and told her everything, but she already knew everything from Yoongi. I sat there for about two hours. It stopped entertaining me, so I walked around the hallway. I sat down again after a while because my ankle hurt a bit. I looked at the clock. It was already late; I should probably go. I stood up to leave when a young nurse approached me, the same one I had been seeing for the past three hours.

"Your friend has been taken to his room; if you want to see him, come with me." I nodded and followed her. She led me to his room. "But you can't stay long; if they find out I let you in, I'll get fired," she said.

"Don't worry, I just want to know how he's doing, it'll only take a moment. Thank you," I smiled at her. She returned the smile. I entered the room. He was asleep. He had an IV, bandages on his forehead, hand, and chest. I held his hand. "Hey..." I whispered. He wasn't in good shape. "I'm sorry... I should have been the one lying here, not you..." tears welled up in my eyes.

"Miss, you should go now," she nodded. I wiped my eyes.

"Goodbye..." I said and left. I went home. I opened the door, took off my shoes, and sat on a chair in the kitchen. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. My mom rushed into the kitchen. "Where have you been?! Do you know how worried I was? Why didn't you answer your phone? I called you like 30 times!!" she shouted at me. I looked at her.

"My friend got hit by a car because of me..." my mom gasped.

"W-what? Why because of you??" she didn't understand.

"I was crossing the road, a car rushed towards me, and I didn't hear it because my ears were plugged. I don't know what happened exactly, but he must have noticed it, and he pushed me away, and it hit him instead of me!" I hugged my mom.

"It should have been me, not him!" I cried.

"Don't say such things," she comforted me.

"It's easy for you to say! But his mom would never say that."
