"Hello," I said in surprise.
"Hello," he smiled.
"What are you doing here?" I followed him.
"I told you I'd come for you," I had forgotten about it; thankfully, I hadn't changed into home clothes. "Actually, yeah, I forgot," I exclaimed, holding my head. "Wait, let me grab my coat, and I'll be right back." He nodded, and I rushed inside.
"Mom, am I going out, okay?" I shouted.
"Where are you going? Did you wash those dishes?" she asked.
"Out with a friend, and yes, I washed them," I lied; I hadn't washed them yet, and it was with that friend. "Lili, could you please finish washing those dishes?" I whispered to her.
"And what do I get in return?" she raised an eyebrow. "Come on, you little troublemaker. Isn't it enough that you get the good feeling of helping your sister?" I put on a sweet smile.
"No," she replied.
"Lili, please... um, then I'll buy you something, okay? Thanks, bye." I grabbed my coat and headed out. "I'm here," I smiled and ran my fingers through my hair. We went to the park, strolled around, and chatted. We sat on a bench when it started to drizzle. "I guess you don't have an umbrella?" I asked. "Do you see one in my hand?" he laughed. I shook my head. It started to rain. "Come on," he took my hand, and we ran to take shelter under a roof. We got drenched like mice. He looked at me and smiled. I returned his smile. He tossed his hair, and raindrops fell from his bangs. I bit my lip. He was beautiful.
-Jimin-
"What?!" I raised my voice. "You mean they're dating?!" Anger surged through me.
"Tae told me," Kookie said. So, Taehyung, you're doing this? First, you set her up with me, and now you're dating her. You're such a great friend. Mina came to mind. "Where are you going?" Kookie asked me. "Taking care of something," I said and headed toward Mina. I went to her locker, hoping to find her. I bumped into her as she was coming out of the bathroom. "You know that Jennie and Tae are dating, right?!" I confronted her.
"Of course I know, so why would I have kissed you back then? I just wanted to protect you from rejection," she lied, so why was she acting so surprised?
"Hmm... thanks," I said. I followed her to her locker. She was taking textbooks out of it. "Is that what you wanted?" I closed her locker in front of her. She looked puzzled. "To separate me from Jennie, and you succeeded. Do you want me to play your dirty game now? Okay, I'll play it," I hugged her with one hand around her shoulders and walked down the school hallway with her. Everyone was staring at us. "Now listen carefully. We'll pretend we're dating, especially in front of Taehyung and Jennie" I whispered in her ear. After all, she always wanted to date me.
*The next day *
-Jennie-
At lunch, I sat with Rose and the guys. Jimin and Mina sat next to each other right in front of me. Should I sit down or not? "Hi," Tae sat down next to me. "Hello," I smiled at him. I started eating. I couldn't concentrate at all; Mina kept glancing at Jimin.
"Are you okay?" Tae nudged me with his elbow.
"Huh?" I looked at him.
"Are you okay?" he repeated.
"Yes, I am," I smiled.
"Do you want this? I've lost my appetite," I pushed my tray with food toward him. He nodded. I got up.
"Where are you going?" Rose asked. "Taking care of something," I said and left. I walked to the classroom. No one was there yet. I sat at my desk. At the end of the lesson, the teacher handed out the test results. One classmate had the best score in the whole class. I looked at Rose. During the time I'd been here, I'd noticed that she always had the best grades.
"How many points did you get?" I asked her. "34, and you?" she replied.
"76%," I said.
"I'm dead; my mom will kill me!" she grabbed her head.
"Please, you'll be fine with one bad test," I handed her my bag.
"You don't know my mom; she may seem super nice, but when it comes to studying, she turns into a fury," she said. I laughed. "Then I'll let you know how it goes at home."
"Okay, bye," I waved to her. I put my earphones in and went to the bus stop. I was walking on the sidewalk when someone suddenly removed my earphones from my ears.
"Huh?" I turned around. Jimin was standing there, smiling at me.
"Haven't you learned yet not to wear earphones when crossing the road? I won't always be here to save you," he said.
"Sorry," I looked at the ground. "Don't apologize," I looked at him.
"Let's talk," he said.
"Do-" I didn't even have a chance to answer, and he was already dragging me along. "Just in case, so you won't run away," he said.
"Don't worry; I won't run away. Can you let me go?"
"Why? Will Taehyung mind?" I didn't answer. He stood me in front of him. "Why did you run away back then?" He stared into my eyes.
"Tae called me, saying something had happened." I lied.
"So, Tae... alright," he kept looking at me, so intensely that I felt like he could see into my soul. I had to look away.
"And what did you want to tell me?" I looked back at him.
"It doesn't matter now." He replied.
"I have to go now; I'll miss the bus." I turned to leave. "Hey!" He shouted after me.
I stopped. "We have a performance tonight, with only a few fans. If you want, come." I continued walking. When I got home, I sat at my laptop and listened to music. The thought crossed my mind about going to their performance. "No, I'm not going anywhere! But I can find out where it is." I started typing on my laptop. I found the place and time. "Should I go or not? No, I'm not going," I decided and sprawled on the bed.
