It Isn't Always Easy

(Ashley's POV )

"DAWWNNNNNN!, WHAT DID YOU DO!" I screamed, I woke on a Saturday morning to a room that was an absolute mess, there were books, clothes, paper, EVERYWHERE. I was going to blow up, "What?!" Dawn said as she looked at my furious face and then looked over to see the disaster of a room

"Oh, that." She looked down at the floor. 

"Dawn, What in the world happened here." I asked with a disappointing tone

"I didn't mean too... I mean. UGH, I can't lie, Yes, I'm sorry I made this mess." Dawn looks at me, ever since she moved in with me, we can't keep this room in an orderly fashion.

We walked downstairs, I'm wearing my cute yellow sunflower pj's, I noticed my dad had already left for work, His shoes and work coat are gone. I go to the kitchen to get some breakfast, and see Nicky next to some fresh blueberry scones. "Something smells good," i say

"Yeah! It's probably the scones I made this morning." He says in a tiny sarcastic tone.

I chuckle, "So what's on the agenda this morning," I say, forgetting that it's Christmas Eve. How time flies. "Oh, and I forgot to tell you. We are working at the Christmas event at the store." Nicky says disappointed. "Is everything ok!?" I say trying to be calming, but it comes out aggressive. 

"Yes, I'm fine. its just we have to work to get our Maxbox and your Necklace, because we snooped out our presents. Why are you so tense?" Nicky says

"It's nothing, I promise" I say "Lets go"

We arrive at the store, I see Dawn, Dicky and Ricky waiting for us, all wearing elf costumes. Me and Nicky are given our costumes as well. We put them on and went over to the play pen for the kids that we were chosen to supervise. I can tell that this is gonna be a long day

(A/N: Sorry for skipping over the story, I'm trying to keep this like the show, but also original)

I go over to the coloring table and start taking out some Crayons and paper. I set them up at the tables and sit down waiting for kids. 2 kids start to sit down and color.

"LEY LEY!" A girl yells, I turn around to see Taylor and Avery at the front of the pen, I run up to them "Hey!!!!" I say. "Whats up guys!" 

"Nothing much! Just came here to see the big crowd," Taylor replied

"Nicee"

"Anyways we are going to head out now! See you next week!" Avery say

"Okay Byee!" I wave goodbye

"ASHLEY" Another person yells

"WHAT THIS TIME." I yell and see a panicking Dawn,  "Whats wrong?" I ask

"We lost Frankie!" Dawn says in a frantic voice

"WHAT!? HOW. I CAN'T HELP, I HAVE TO WATCH THE REST OF THESE KIDS." I scream

"Okay! Fine! Just look out for him if you see him, tell us." Dawn says

"Ok Ok, Got it." I take a deep breath and calm myself

Nicky walks up to me and puts a hand on my shoulder, making me flinch

"Oh sorry, didn't mean to startle you." He says

"No your fine" I say

"Jeez Ash, why have you been so up-tight today, your acting like Dawn after we barge in your room" Nicky asks concerned

I make a watery chuckle that turns to sobbing, tears run down my face and Nicky pulls me in a hug my head leaning on his shoulder, "Your right, I have been rude today" I say still crying and mumbling "I didn't say that" He says. "But it's true" I say. "Are you ok?" He asks with a worried face. "NO, I'm not, my dad called today and said he can't get back in time for Christmas" I mumble to him still sobbing. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry Ley." He says, looking teary as well, "Are you ok?" i ask "Yeah I guess, seeing my best friend upset makes me upset." He says.

We stand up, he wipes the tears off my face and smiles. That made my heart sing, I smile, And before I realize what I was gonna do, I hug him. Crap, Was that a bad idea.? He looks at me and smiles, "Your my best friend, Ashley. And that won't ever change." He says. I realize what I did and ask myself (Do I like Nicky?) No, I can't. I- won't.

I come back to Dawn who is holding a wad of cash and I see Frankie with his mother. 

"Ok guys, Squaddle up." Dawn says

"I think we all know the best way to spend the money," Ricky says, most likely hinting to buying Josie a new guitar because of her failed attempts to bring a holiday song cheer.

Josie comes out with her new guitar, and starts to sing

We come back home and we are all sitting on the couch,  Nicky pulls a present from under the table

"This is for you Ley." Nicky speaks

"For me?" I say

(Nicky's POV) 

I see Ash's face glow, as I give her the gift and she opens to find a sterling silver sunflower necklace. "We had extra money left, and since your dad wasn't here for Christmas this year. I decided to make you day a little bit better" I say with a huge smile. She rushes over and gives me a huge hug. "Thank you Nicky!" She says, I blush. 

(Ashley's POV) 

If  I learned one thing today, it's that It Isn't Always Easy, we got to take it slow.
