"How long do we have to be here mommy. I'm bored." Kashmir whined sitting in the seat next to his mother. They had been waiting at the doctors office a little over thirty minutes. Kody didn't understand it either, if I made an appointment why am I not being serviced at my appointment time?
"Shouldn't be much longer. Do you see me complaining at your football practices that I take you to fresh off of work?" Kody asked him throwing him a look that he'd better tighten up.
"Actually mommy, yes." Kashmir gave her a look that said she had tried it. Kids never forgot anything.
"Mm. Besides the point. Mommy had to make sure you don't have a lil brother or sister in here. Do you want a brother or sister?" She pointed to her stomach, of course she wasn't going to tell him the whole reason they were there. That was just part of it.
"Yup. So I can have somebody to play with but you're not married so you can't have anymore babies." Kash told her matter-of-factly.
"Who said dat? This baby making factory still works with or with out being married but just for that you not getting another sibling." Kody stuck her tongue out at the young boy who thought it was hilarious.
Adding some tickles to it and his small laugh was the main ambiance in the small waiting room.
Once the laughter died down he had another question for his mom, "Were you married to my daddy?"
"Nah. You know ion like talking about him." Kody scratched her three week old silk press.
"I know sometimes I just wish I had a daddy." The boy got quiet after that. Lately? He had been saying things that Kody didn't know how to reply to. He was getting older now so she expected the questions.
