Author's note: This story takes place after 'Nightmares belong in boxes' like, just right after everyone goes home.

Also, Mario calls the sorceress the bitch witch because I thought it was funny.

Mario had trouble sleeping.

Which is unusual for him, since he wore himself out from carrying all of his friends in the battle with the evil bitch witch. 

Instead, he was thinking. 

He doesn't like thinking.

It always hurts his head. 

The great divine one. 

Slg4 brought it up to get the witch to agree in their War of fat Italians. But it wasn't the first time he brought it up.

After a near death experience, he revealed to everyone else that he was possessed.

Mario had to act surprised when he revealed that.

Before Kevin fainted, he mentioned the name Luke. He referred Smg4 as Luke.

Is that why the bitch witch used him?

Which one of them is the great divine one?

Luke?

Kevin?

Both?

Some third guy?

Mario felt frustrated. 

He's heard those names before. 

Why can't he remember?

Why does it hurt? Trying to remember?

Did... Did they make him forget? Why!?!

Did they also make him dumb?

Not that Mario would want to go back to being his squeaky-clean Nintendo self, it's just he feels like Mario could be more helpful if he wasn't dumb as a brick.

The many times the plumber has tried to help out, it always ends in disaster. 

Hell, he ruined Smg4's confession to Smg3. Not once but twice.

It was only because of Four himself, they got together.

And even earlier today, if Mario wasn't lazy, he would've dodged the mist coming after him and prevent Smg3 experiencing a horrible terrible nightmare.

If Mario wasn't stupid, he could've saved Smg4 from tearing down the castle and save him from working himself to death from his perfect video.

If Mario was smart maybe Desti would still be alive.

Maybe Axol would still be alive.

Maybe Greg would still be alive.

Maybe he would've notice sooner that -

He shook that last thought out of his head.

What if this great divine one notices he's not acting like his dumb self?

Would they reset him?

"It seems like Mario is going to play dumb." The plumber whispered to himself.

Afterall, it's not like his friends would believe in Mario being smart in the first place.
