"Home sweet home, eh, button?"

"I just want more sleep." I yawned.

"Odd...that looks like my parents' car..." The keys rattled as he unlocked the door and I didn't freeze like he did, eyes closed in exhaustion, and tiredly walked in. When I did open my eyes, I wished I'd hadn't.

"So, you think it's alright to impregnate my Boobear, eh?!"

"I'm the pregnant one here." I mumbled sleepily. "And its okay as long as I can take a nap." I sidestepped and tried to continue to the couch. But his mum stopped me.

"You know what this is?" She practically shoved it up my nose.

"A pregnancy test."

"A pregnancy test. I think you're full of it. My Lou is too good to have got you knocked up like it was high school."

"Mum-"

"It was a conscious decision to have a baby." I lied smoothly. Louis made no expression to give it away and I was too tired to have any emotion.

"Really?"

"Yeah. It's a boy."

"Whatcha naming him, eh? I still think you've got bees in your brain."

"Jamison Miles Tomlinson." I gave a little sniff, flying always gave me a little runny nose. She seemed satisfied. But you never know with Mrs. Tomlinson.

"Take the test. If it's positive I'll believe you." I glared at her through my eyelids and took it in my teeth. I carried it to the bathroom and shut the door, following the instructions on these things and made faces at myself in the mirror until the test came out positive.

"There, physical evidence." She took it like it was God and eyed it in marvel. Louis looked over her shoulder like he didn't know what'd be there. I let her drink her own bitter medicine and got cozy on the couch, bundled in blankets and pillows with the TV on low volume.

"Fine, you win. You've got my Boobear wound tighter than an old box spring. You better take care of that kid or so help me-"

"Yeah yeah muma bear I will. Just taking a nap because I've got needs too." She kept spouting off advice I ignored until Louis lured her out the door. He kissed my temple ever so gently as I drifted off.

"AND THEN, me and Zayn went on this ride and it went SO HIGH, Tails! We got caught on camera making out and got kicked off, but that's ok. We got kicked off like seven rides because of it. Zayn just was trying to comfort me with his face. Is that so wrong?" I don't know how long Wily Cat rambled about the amusement park but all I knew is I wish I could've gone. But I had at least a month. The days until the predicted due date seem to fly away like a feather caught in the wind, and the more I lie awake with anxiety.

Louis must've caught my expression of longing and veered the conversation elsewhere between him and Wily. I more thought about the swelling baby boy in my abdomen right now and if I'd ever be able to really do much more than this. I probably will ruin the poor kid's life with my awful parenting. He was an accident...

There was a rapid knock at the door and we all looked around, as if it'd been one of us. A prank?

Louis got up cautiously, it was late, after all, and went to the door. Wily Cat and I sat wide-eyed, curled up on the couch like cold puppies with a blanket over us. It was one reassurance in these ticking stages, my bestest brosif by my side.

"I'm gonna make sure nothing happens to that kid!" Mrs. Tomlinson had bags filled to the brim with her accoutrements and a red-painted nail viciously aimed at me.

"Mum! We can handle it! Give us a chance!"

"Look at her! American in all her ways...all of them are fools with mis-mannered children! And obese! So obese and greasy..."

"Shelby's seven months pregnant and weighs 175."

"She's just a queer one..."

"Mum! She has the power to take the baby and make sure you can't come within a mile of him!"

"Oh no she doesn't! I've got a lawyer and he says I'm the inheritor slash Godmother of the half-breed!"

"If anyone's his Godparents it'd be Shalice and Zayn." I said slowly. Wily nodded.

"Don't you need like, papers for that?" Wily inquired.

"I was being nice and filled them out for you."

"MUM?!"

"What? I needed some leverage in the matter!"

"That's our decision! WE'RE supposed to sign off on it! That means you had to FORGE OUR SIGNATURES!"

"You'll live." I sighed and face-palmed. I was under enough stress as it is without Louis' fox of a mother. No, foxes don't deserve the disgrace of this, this...viper. But vipers are cool, God dammit.

"So I'll stay here-"

"NO." I stood up subconsciously and my balance wavered. "I'm pregnant, I'm in charge. And SHE is NOT staying HERE!"

"Tails sit down before you hurt yourself!" Wily laughed. "Check yourself before you wreck yourself." I crossed my arms and huffed, sitting back down. Wily Cat put the blanket back over my lap and patted my leg.

"Just, relax, button, I'll handle it. Mum-"

"There's a guest bedroom in this dump, right?" I lunged forward, fingers outstretched so I could claw her bitchy face. Lucky for her Wily caught me.

"I'm movin' on in."
