Lindsey strummed his guitar, eyes closed, cherishing one of the last peaceful moments he was going to have in a long time. He was excited about the baby, but he also remembered all the screaming, the lack of sleep and various messes Avery made, when she was little, all too well. So, having made sure that his daughter and wife were both tucked in for the night, Lindsey entered his studio for some alone time. He didn't get to enjoy it, though.

"What the hell do you think you're doing here?" Lindsey put away his instrument a lot less carefully than he normally would have and jumped to his feet, when Stevie appeared in the doorway.

"I came here to see what you were up to." Stevie smiled innocently, breathing heavily as she now held onto him while he led her to take a seat. "Whew! That was the longest journey I've been on in months!"

"How many times do I have to tell you-"

"To stay in bed, yeah." She exhaled deeply. "But we were also told that standing or walking might help get things started."

"Not when you're alone!" Lindsey exclaimed, hands on his hips as he stood in front of her. "Christ, I leave you for half an hour and you're-"

"Relax." Stevie interrupted. "I'm already here, I didn't hurt myself, I'm fine." She patted the empty space beside her. "Sit down with me, I'm not a fan of the yelling."

Not at all pleased, Lindsey slumped down next to her. "You seemed tired, when I left you."

"Yeah, but someone else is doing somersaults in there." Stevie replied, pointing at her belly.

"I'm sorry." Lindsey gave her an apologetic look. After all, he had a pretty big part in her being extremely uncomfortable right now. "Is there anything I can do for you? Would you like me to rub your feet? Or your back?"

Stevie shook her head then shifted slightly in her seat to rest it on his shoulder. "No, I think, we're way past rubbing parts of my body at this point."

With his arm wrapped around her shoulders, Lindsey leaned in to press a kiss to her hair. They sat in silence for a while, again, on of the few quiet moments they had left. Lindsey combed his fingers through her hair, hoping that it might lull her to sleep, but Stevie's eyes remained wide open.

"This is nice." Stevie spoke up after some time as she tilted her chin up.

"It is." Lindsey nodded with a smile. "You know what would be nicer?" He paused, but she waited for him to continue. "Getting you back into bed."

"Are you trying to get rid of me?" Stevie asked, placing her hand on his chest.

"I'm not, but-"

"I don't want to leave." Stevie shook her head slightly and her fingers tapped their way up to his neck.

A bit suspicious, but he didn't stop her. Feeling her hand on the back of his head, he moved in closer and lightly brushed their lips together. With no intention of letting him go, she deepened the kiss and he lost himself in the moment, hungrily kissing her back, until-

"Nope!" Lindsey broke them apart and rose to his feet. "I know exactly what you're doing!"

Stevie groaned, cocking her head back against the couch. "Lindsey, you have to get this baby out of me! The doctor said this-"

"I'm not making love to you." Lindsey shook his head, arms crossed.

"I don't want to make love." Stevie managed to sit up. "Sex, let's have sex."

"Nu-uh."

"You don't have to worry." Stevie whined, holding her hand out for him, silently asking him to come back. "We were given the green light to try. It'll be quick, just like that." She emphasized by snapping her fingers.

"Stevie, no." Lindsey held up his hands. "I'm afraid I'll hurt you, I don't- no. No, we're not doing this. The baby's gonna come out, when he or she is ready."

"Ugh, you're no fun." Stevie complained, trying to stand up. "I'd imagine that you're about to burst by now and I'm giving you a chance to relieve some of the pressure."

"I've waited this long-" Lindsey put his arm around her back to help. "I can wait a little longer."

"Fine. Take me to bed, since I have nothing left to do here."

"That I can do." Lindsey nodded, slowly walking with her towards the door. He then stopped and gave her a questioning look. "By that you mean help you lay down, so you can have a good night's sleep, right?"

"Right." Stevie sighed.

"No funny business?"

"Lindsey!" Stevie yelled out, frustrated.

He held back a laugh and lifted her hand up to kiss instead. "I love you."

"Whatever." Stevie replied before she continued saying something about if he really loved her, he would have done what she asked.
