Some time later...

"Here."
Stevie turned to look up at Lindsey, her eyes then settled on the champagne flute he was holding out for her. With a thank you and a smile, she took it from him and watched him sit down next to her.
"It's so beautiful here." Stevie said, looking away. "I could see myself living here someday." She fantasized, looking over Paris at night from the tiny balcony that their rented apartment had. We can afford a five star hotel you know, Lindsey reminded her, when they were planning this trip, but that wasn't the kind of trip Stevie wanted to go on.
"Yeah, maybe someday." Lindsey nodded, taking a sip of his drink. "When the kids are all grown up and we can no longer tour."
"Ha!" Stevie faced him. "Speak for yourself, I'll be singing Rhiannon at 95. In a wheelchair if I have to." She added.
"Of course you will." Lindsey nodded, laughing. "In an old folks' home." He pushed his chair back and reached for her hand. "Come 'ere."
Without hesitation, Stevie got up from her seat and moved to sit in his lap, wrapping her arm around his shoulders while both of his loosely circled her waist. They sat together in silence, enjoying the first real moment of peace and quiet in the last year and a half or so.
"Thank you for being so amazing to me." Stevie spoke up, she softly pressed her lips to his forehead.
"I was an ass for the first 15 years of our marriage, thought, it's time to switch things up." Lindsey joked, but she shook her head, smiling at him lovingly.
"Not always, you have your moments." Stevie chuckled when he rolled his eyes. "But you have changed. We were ready to sign divorce papers and as soon as we found out about Alex, you became a totally different man. I know that you weren't only taking care of me, but our baby too. Still, you were there every step of the way, doing absolutely everything you could for me. I hadn't felt so loved by you in..." She trailed off then shook her head slightly. "I was afraid that it was all going to go away once Alex was born, but it didn't. You stayed true to your word, kept every single promised you'd made and it only made me love you more."
"I love you, too." Lindsey replied, cupping her cheek to pull her in for a kiss. "I don't know what the hell I was thinking back then. I was willing to give it all up; you, our life together, everything we created. And for what? Because I got a bit bored?" He paused, swallowing uneasily. "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry, too." Stevie echoed, kissing him again. "I don't want to go back to that place, ever."
"Never gonna happen." Lindsey promised, lightly brushing the pad of his thumb over her cheek. "Happy anniversary, baby."
"Happy anniversary." Stevie repeated with a smile before she stood up and took him by the hand. He followed her back inside and to the bedroom...

AN: I didn't want to bring any drama into this story, but I also didn't want it to get too boring without it, so I thought, I'd wrap things up here, where everyone's happy and in love. Thank you all for reading ♥
