Aphmau has went on lots of adventures lately, it's a good way of distracting her from her problems. One of these problems is her sleep schedule, which she does not take care of very well. Luckily for her there is someone who likes taking care of it for her.
Aphmau made her way to her house after coming home from an adventure, she was quite tired and beat up, her armor also taking some damage. As she opened the door to her house; she tried to be very careful as to not wake up Levin and Malachi. She hated coming home in the middle of the night as she tends to wake everyone up, which causes quite the ruckus when it comes to little Levin who still had trouble falling asleep sometimes
"Lady Aphmau! Welcome home, did your adventure fare we-" Zoey awaited her again. Aphmau told her to stop waiting for her like this but Zoey doesn't seem to care about her concerns. It never mattered how late she came home, or how irritated she acted, Zoey always seemed to want to help in some way
"Hi.." Aphmau didn't have much energy to get in a conversation at the moment, she luckily didn't have to as Zoey got up and took her hand, leading Aphmau to the downstairs area of the house.
"come on... let me help you get cleaned up" Zoey did this a lot too. Whenever Aphmau came home hurt she would help her clean the wound, though this time she was much more beat up then ever before, which Zoey took a quick mental note of as she helped Aphmau down the stairs
"Thank you" she quietly followed Zoey to the basement and let her lead her into her bedroom
"What happened? You never get this hurt when you're out" Zoey was of course concerned about Aphmaus health even though it was only a few cuts and bruises aswell as a black eye she was still right, Aphmau never got this hurt before "Ugh... can we chat about it later..?" She was too tired to speak so casually. Zoey took the hint almost immediately and didn't bother with any more questions
"Sit down, I'll bandage your up" Aphamu sat down on Zoeys green colored bed, which was a great change from the cold, hard, ground she has been sleeping on for the past few days. Zoey took out some alcohol and bandages, first cleaning the smaller cuts then moving onto the bigger bruises, then bandaging up Aphmaus leg and putting a few plasters on multiple cuts
"You shouldn't strain your leg for a few days, you should be fine after though. Want me to make you some tea?" Zoey made the best tea, and Aphmau could never say no to a hot cup especially when tired. She nodded as she felt Zoeys soft hands bandage her up while caressing her face in a reassuring manner
Aphmau smiled as she leaned into Zoeys touch, the touch she craved so much for so long. Even though she knew nothing about her past, something told her she was seriously touch starved.
Zoey came back in what felt like hours with tea "here you go darling..." as she sat down and put the food tray with the tea on it in Aphmaus lap she couldn't help but smile darling... something that Zoey only called her while she was worried about her. Not because of anything serious, Zoey loved pet-names, but because they were trying to keep their relationship a secret until the entire Zane issue calmed down. Though Aphmau has of course already told both Garroth and Laurence that she has made her final choice of just wanting to be friends with both of them. Other than that they didn't even tell the kids that Zoey is going to be more then just a family friend, or a god-mother. They would have plenty of time to do that after things started calming down again.
Aphmau didn't even notice Zoey leave the room as she got stuck in her thoughts until she noticed her come back down the stairs with one of aphmaus dogs in hand "the rest of them are upstairs with Levin and Malachi..." she sets the dog down next to Aphmau who starts petting it immediately. The dog sat down next to Aphmau and licked her hand as it let itself get pet, happy to see its owner again "Drink your tea and then get to bed, I'll run you a bath tomorrow morning" Zoey said as she helped Aphmau get changed into more comfortable clothes
Aphmau was so grateful for Zoey. She was there whenever Aphmau needed her, and she was determined to do the same for the elf. The elf that took care of her kids and is now taking care of her as well.
After the tea was done Zoey curled up in bed next to Aphmau putting the covers over both of them. They didn't say anything else, they didn't need to. All they needed was each others touch as they cuddled until both of them fell asleep.
