Chapter 1 *

*Flashback*

April 17 2008

My dad kicked open the door and I screamed out, terrified. I shuffled my body as far way from him as I could. I was trying to block the door but he was so strong against my weak body.

"How dare you disobey me!" He shouted, "Your just an ungrateful bitch!"

"No! Please daddy! I-I-I'm sorry!" I sobbed before he came over and grabbed a chunk of my hair and threw me at the wall.

I screamed in pain. At that moment he took a sharp blade from his pocket. My eyes widened in fear and I kept screaming and he didn't try to stop me.

He lifted his arm about to plunge the knife into my limp body right before a large group of police officers and paramedics burst into the room. He didn't even notice they were there until he was be dragged away from me.

"I will find you again! Don't you ever doubt that!" He screamed at me from across the room that had so many memories that haunted me.

"I will kill you! That is my priority now! I've already taken care of your mum so she's out if the way of stopping me!" he said with an evil laugh and my eyes grew wider.

I just screamed more hoping he was wrong. How badly I hope he is wrong.

*End of Flashback*

"Shh. It's okay. Everything will be okay," a voice said to me softly. Jenn. She was the lady who ran the orphanage. That's right I'm an orphan.

My name is Alexis but Lex for short and I'm 14. It is currently June 9, 2013 and yes, my dad abused me and also...I guess I'll just tell you.

My dad used to rape me and have his friends over some nights and well...they paid him so they could do that as well. I've been adopted 9 times since I've been here (6 years) and it's only been men to adopt me an they are just like my father.

Each time they just beat me and rape me then I'm sent back. The images flash in my mind again, of the last words my father said to me, "I will kill you! That is my priority now! I've already taken care of your mum so she's out if the way of stopping me!"

"Lexi it's okay," Jenn said to me as I sobbed. "But tomorrow there are going to be a few people coming by to adopt one of the girls, and who knows, maybe it will be you and they could be the ones. The ones that will be there to care for you," she said to me.

I shook my head. "No, no would could ever love me, Jenn. Who could love a girl who had a past like mine," I whispered to her still with tears. I would never be loved, and I understood that no one did.

"Someone always loves you," she whispered back. I closed my eyes and laid my head against my pillow on my old bed that many others have probably slept in, letting darkness wash over me like a wave.
