I cook up the food according to the box. I don't cook much since my diet is usually just souls. Hopefully I don't mess this up, I want to make Pip happy.

Pip sits on the counter of his kitchen and swings his legs while I cook. "Hey, Damien?"

"Yes, my lo-"

My face gets red and I quickly corrected myself. "Yes, Pip?"

"What do you think happened to my parents? Why aren't they here?"

"I... I'm not sure. Maybe they just moved away after you died. Maybe they were too sad to stay here without you."

"You're trying to make me feel better... tell me the truth. What do you actually think?"

I sigh. "I think something bad happened. They literally just disappeared. It's not normal."

"...yeah..."

"The food is almost done. Let's just enjoy it."

"Do you have to eat too?"

"Yeah. But usually I eat souls. I can eat regular food but my power hinges on souls and stuff. But I ate angel souls recently so I should be set for a while."

"Do angel souls do more for you?"

"Yeah. Like.... It's like they fully replenish my battery for a while. Battle angels provide even more energy. I can eat any part of them and get filled up on power. If that makes sense."

"I guess it does. You ate all of my friends, didn't you?"

"..."

"Thought so."

"... my bad..."

I serve up the food onto two plates. All of the dishes are the same as they used to be as well. This is all so concerning but we have bigger things to focus on.

Pip sighs happily when he clears his plate. I'm glad he enjoyed the food because I thought it tasted really bland.

I laugh quietly. "You enjoy that?"

"Yes. It was so good... thank you. But you didn't like yours... you didn't finish it."

"It's not for me. It's not like it really does anything anyway."

"That's fair. We should continue to look around  the house."

"I agree."

Pip and I go upstairs. His parents room is empty and his room looks the same.

"Anything in your room bring back a memory?"

He looks around. "Not really but it does all look familiar. I can definitely tell that this is my room."

I notice that the sun is going down. We can't get around in the dark.

"Pip, let's spend the night here."

He nods. "Good idea. I was getting tired. Let's just sleep in my room."

Pip closes his door and turns off his lights. Then he takes off my jacket and starts walking towards me.

"Lay down, Damien. Let's get some rest."

"Uhm... I can sleep on the floor."

"No."  He pushes me onto the bed. "It's fair that we both get the bed."

"Pip? What has gotten into you? You're being so assertive."

"I just want you to be comfortable."

He gets in bed with me. His wings wrap around us both like a blanket and he pulls me close to him. I turn the other way... just incase something decides to get excited and start poking him.
