Five's POV
We had taken Luther to his room, and he'd had slept through the night. I was staring at the wall of Luther's room when several bricks were punched. They fell to the ground, and I looked up at the newly formed hole. I scoffed and looked down at my new black shoes. The bowling shoes had gotten very uncountable so I stole a pair of black shoes from a random kid.
"Well, that clearly went well," I muttered, as Vanya walked out of the building.
She walked to her car, without saying anything. Something was off with her. Luther probably told her everything.
"You ready to find Z?" I asked, following her.
"I'm going back to the farm. And if she's your sister/girlfriend you can find her," Vanya stated, walking to the door, emphasizing sister.
"Hey! Whoa, no accusations! We need to stick together!" I yelled, jogging to keep up with her.
"Oh, why so I don't end the world again?" Vanya shot back, spinning around.
"Stupid..." I muttered looking back at the wall, before turning back to Vanya.
"Were you even going to tell me?" she questioned as she opened the door.
"You know what? In my defense, no. All right? And can you blame me? When you... you get angry, shit blows up," I snapped, giving in to tell her.
"Great. Are there any other family secrets you failed to mention?" Vanya asked, getting into the car and slamming the door shut.
"A boatload Vanya, which I don't have the luxury of sharing them. Z could do better, and that's why we need to find her..." I yelled before I realized she wasn't going to listen to me yell through the window.
I knocked on the window, and Vanya glared at me. She rolled down the window and looked at me.
"The clock is ticking on doomsday. Just tell me that when I need you. You'll be ready," I asked, slight beg in my voice, hoping she would say yes.
"I can't help you Five, and your charity event doomsday," Vanya sassed, turning the car on.
I scoffed as I looked at Luther. He was watching me, and he flipped me off. I turned around and headed back to the coffee shop to see if Z had gone back.
"Wonder if it's too late to be unadopted," I muttered.
I walked down the street and thought of all the places Z might have gone to find the family. Dallas was a large place, so she couldn't have covered much ground since last night. I walked passed a small coffee, shop and glanced in. A man inside looked at me and then hurried outside.
"Oh. So you think changing your appearance will help you?" he asked.
I turned around, confused.
I'm sorry. I don't follow,"
"You were here last night, ruining my business!"
Z must have been here. Of course. She would always get coffee.
"Was it a girl wearing this uniform?" I asked, showing him the full uniform.
He stood there confused. He looked at it and then groaned.
"Yes, maybe but she was blood was all over. Now scram,"
"You want to end dead in your bed tonight?" I asked, stepping closer to the man.
"So it was you!" he yelled.
I scoffed and blinked away. Z and I have pretty much the same insults and style of doing everything, so I took a wild guess it was her.
