I give up.
After we continue to exchange several water attacks and noticing he's not getting any close to letting this go, I shout, "Fine!" There's no point in this anyway. I just want to go up back to the shore and relax. "You win."
Sasuke furrows his brows, not liking how I'm backing down. He stares me down for a couple of seconds until I get uncomfortable and force myself to start heading back to shore.
Well, apparently that wasn't happening.
I feel something wrap around my ankles and yank me backward. Obviously losing my balance, I fall forward and crash into the water with a yelp. Quickly, I push myself up and snap my head to Sasuke who pretends he didn't know what happened.
"Hey, asshole!" I call, standing up and heading over to him.
"Yeah?" he perks.
"Why'd you do that?" I demand.
"Do what?"
"Don't play dumb with me, mister!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Yeah, right."
He narrows his eyes at me. "You know, it's not nice to accuse someone of something they didn't do."
Baffled, I stammer, "But you did!"
"Still have no idea what you're talking about."
Fed up, I yell, "Kiss my ass!" and jump onto him. Caught by surprise by my sudden burst, he tips backward and we topple into the water. Knowing that this might be my end, I quickly hop up and try to run away.
Note: running away in water is never the easiest.
With my anxiety spiking up from being attacked, I easily trip over random things and step on some shells and rocks, shocks shooting through my leg. That's the least of my concern right now. I take one glance back, thinking I was at least ten feet away from him. That was not the case.
"Wait, no!" I squeak once I see how close Sasuke actually is. It's not long before I feel a weight on my back and soon fall forward. I catch my breath just before I crash into the water, but that doesn't mean I wasn't ready for the impact. I gasp for breath when I break the surface and whip my head over to the chuckling Uchiha. "Bruh!"
He raises a brow at me, not wiping off the satisfied smug on his face.
Frustrated, I jump onto his back, hoping to get the same reaction as I did last time. Nope. Sasuke stands completely still even as I try to lean forward and throw off the weight balance. I even push his head to see if that would make him stumble. My efforts are futile.
Sasuke turns his head to the side to look at me, the look in his eyes already telling me I'm not going to like what happens next. I was right. Even though the Uchiha ended up falling, he tipped the wrong way. Backward. Why? Because I'm going to be the one who hits the water first.
"You!" I stammer, sitting up abruptly in the water and sending a glare that could kill.
"Hn," is his response. He also sits in the water, looking me up and down.
Noticing the movement of his eyes, I feel warmth creep to my cheeks. "You...!"
"Is there something you'd like to say?"
"Fuck you!" I spit, splashing water at him. I whip my head to the side in hopes of hiding my blush. "Why did I get myself involved in this mess with you? Oh, fuck me, too."
He splashes some water back. "I would, but I have standards."
I raise a brow at him, completely dismissing the water business. "You would but... what?"
