Warning: The nightmare will consist of many different fears for both reader relation and I also want to make it feel rushed and jumbled. (If you don't wish to read the nightmare, I mean, you're good. Some people don't like it so.)
Yes, it will take up roughly more than half the chapter...
After our exotic dinner full of the weirdest yet longest conversations, Itachi made Sasuke and I watch a movie. Apparently, it came up during one of the meal topics, and Itachi highly recommended we do that once we were done. He went to go do something else while Sasuke and I went back upstairs and played said movie. We talked a little bit here and there, but mainly stayed quiet in our comfortable spots and actually enjoyed the movie.
I don't remember much after that, only that I didn't make it to the end. Considering I had slept six hours earlier, you'd think I'd make it through the whole night. How surprising it is to see I never got past ten o'clock.
I only wished that it would've been a peaceful sleep... and not one of my nightmares.
Not one of those.
Not again.
I stand in the middle of nothing, black surrounding all of me, the only thing clear is the outline of my body and the ripples of thin water I stand on. My reflection is clear below me, staring me down as I, it.
"(Y/n)..." a soft and familiar voice whispers.
I lift my head and turn around to see whoever it was speaking amongst the darkness. I rotate in a circle, hoping to find the source of the voice. No one is around.
"(Y/n)," the voice calls again. "(Y/n), I'm here."
"Where are you?" I ask, desperate to find her, wherever she may be. "Mom, I can't see you!"
"(Y/n), sweetie! I'm here for you! It's going to be okay!"
My mouth opens to scream at her to tell me where she is so I could find her and see her one more time, even if it is only in my dreams.
Only, something shoots up in my arm. My memories flood back. Everything floods back. It all comes back. Although now, it feels real.
"It's going to be okay, sweetie!" my mom cries again, sounding distraught and panicked as I begin to feel the same. Panicked. Terrified. Overwhelmed. The mark on my arm, yet thin, forms on the surface of my skin. It sparks, then pricks, and then burns. It burns, it burns, it burns. It's all coming back. "You're going to be fine!"
I blink, tears brimming my eyes. My surroundings change to a brightly lit room very similar to mine. The same floor, the same creaks, the same door frame. The only difference was the setup of my bedroom. How the layout was exactly like that day. How my origami project still sat on the desk, unfinished, while a younger girl with no face bawled on the ground.
She was on the floor, tears pouring out of her eyes like waterfalls. Her screams fill the apartment, horrible, deafening screams that said 'I feel like I'm in hell,' and I would know.
I was that girl experiencing CPS for the very first time.
A faceless lady holds the girl, crying as she makes an effort to comfort her daughter, not knowing what to do. "You're going to be alright! Mommy's right here!"
"Make it stop! Make it stop!" the girl screeches and clutches her arm harder, right around the same spot my arm hurts. "Please, stop it! It hurts so much! Please!"
"I know, sweetie! I know!"
A pang in my chest pounds, beating to the sound of my horrified heart as the flashbacks not only affect my head but my fear as well. All of the pain rushes back, the horrible lava that pours through my veins, the bombs exploding right under my skin.
