It was a sunny morning in Tokyo. Daiki and Dekisugi, two of the neighborhood's most peculiar characters, had just emerged from the park, their faces red with embarrassment and their shirts splattered with what appeared to be bright pink paint.
"Daiki, you promised this was going to work out!" Dekisugi whispered furiously, glancing around to make sure no one was listening.
"I didn't think the paint bomb would explode that way!" Daiki retorted. "How was I supposed to know those pigeons would—"
Before he could finish, Doraemon popped up from behind a tree, dragging Nobita and Shizuka with him. "There you two are!" Doraemon exclaimed. "What in the world happened?"
Daiki and Dekisugi froze. They exchanged a knowing glance before simultaneously blurting out, "Nothing happened! Absolutely nothing!"
Nobita squinted suspiciously. "Then why do you both look like you've been attacked by a cotton candy machine?"
Shizuka giggled. "Or maybe they were in some kind of art battle?"
Daiki laughed nervously. "Yep, art battle! That's exactly what it was. Totally normal. Nothing strange at all."
Dekisugi nudged him hard. "Stop talking!" he hissed.
Nobita, ever eager to prove himself as a detective, put on his best "serious face." It looked more like he was struggling to do math in his head. "Alright, spill it. Where were you two before this... 'art battle?'"
Dekisugi adjusted his glasses, trying to regain composure. "We were at the park," he said flatly.
Shizuka tilted her head, smiling sweetly. "What exactly were you doing at the park?"
Daiki scratched the back of his neck, eyes darting everywhere but at the group. "Just...uh...testing out a new invention."
Shizuka's curiosity grew. "An invention? Like one of Doraemon's gadgets?"
"No! Definitely not!" Daiki waved his hands wildly, inadvertently flinging a glob of pink paint onto Nobita's shirt. "Oops."
"Ugh! My favorite shirt!" Nobita whined, but Doraemon quickly intervened. "Focus, Nobita. They're hiding something."
Shizuka crouched down, inspecting a trail of pink footprints leading away from the park. "Look! We can follow these footprints to find out what really happened."
Dekisugi and Daiki paled. "N-no! That's not necessary!" Dekisugi stammered, stepping in front of the trail as if that would erase it.
"Too late!" Nobita declared, already following the trail like an overconfident detective. Shizuka and Doraemon trailed behind, while Daiki and Dekisugi reluctantly shuffled after them, muttering to each other about how disastrous this was going to be.
The footprints led them to a large, suspicious pile of leaves near the park fountain. Nobita, in his eagerness, leaped toward it. "I've solved the case!"
The moment he landed, there was a loud BANG! The pile exploded in a cloud of pink glitter and confetti, covering everyone from head to toe.
Dekisugi buried his face in his hands. "This is officially a disaster."
Doraemon coughed, spitting out glitter. "Alright, that's it. Time to pull out the big guns."
From his pouch, Doraemon pulled out the "Memory Replay Camera," a gadget that could rewind events and display them like a movie. "Let's see what really happened."
Daiki's heart sank as he saw Doraemon winding up the Memory Replay Camera. He and Dekisugi exchanged panicked glances. If the truth came out, they would never live it down. Ever.
