After reaching the checkpoint in Okayama, the racers gathered on a soft grassy hill overlooking the countryside. The warm summer breeze rustled through the fields, offering a moment of calm after the high-energy competition.
Doraemon reached into his pouch, pulling out a gadget resembling a small cylindrical canister. With a press of a button, the group's sleek, aerodynamic racing suits transformed back into their normal summer clothing.
"This feels so much better," Nobita sighed in relief, tugging at his shirt collar. "That suit was so tight!"
"It wasn't tight," Suneo said, brushing dust off his stylish summer shirt. "You were just flailing around too much."
"Enough arguing, you two," Shizuka said with a gentle smile. "We should enjoy this break while we can."
Resting Before the Next Leg
Doraemon laid out a small picnic blanket, and the group settled down with snacks and drinks from his pouch. Daiki took a moment to stretch, his calm demeanor unchanged despite the competitive atmosphere.
"This is a beautiful place," Shizuka said, admiring the view of the rolling fields and the gentle glimmer of the nearby river.
"Yeah, yeah, it's nice," Gian grumbled, already eager to start the next leg of the race. "But we should get moving soon. I'm going to win the next section!"
"Don't be so sure," Dekisugi replied calmly, studying a holographic map of the Fukuoka course that Doraemon had projected. "The next leg involves urban areas and coastal flying. Precision will be key."
"Urban areas? That's my specialty!" Suneo said confidently, leaning back with a smirk.
Preparing to Race Again
As the clock struck 1 PM, Doraemon stood up and clapped his hands. "All right, everyone, break time is over! Let's get ready for the next leg of the race to Fukuoka."
He pressed another button on his cylindrical gadget, and in a flash of light, their normal clothes transformed back into their racing suits. The group's flying suit floated nearby, already glowing and ready for the next challenge.
HOWEVER
However, the blazing summer heat caused an unexpected problem: their flying suits overheated, making them uncomfortable and unreliable for the next leg.
"This heat is brutal," Nobita said, fanning himself as his suit glowed faintly from overuse.
"I can't race like this," Shizuka added, wiping sweat from her brow.
"Don't worry!" Doraemon said, pulling out another gadget. "We'll replace the suits with consistent hoverboards for the rest of the race. These boards are designed for speed and endurance, and they'll work perfectly in the summer heat!"
With a flick of a switch, Doraemon activated the gadget, and their flying suits dissolved, replaced by sleek, futuristic hoverboards. Each board was tailored to the racer's style:
Nobita's was blue with yellow highlights, mimicking Doraemon's colors.
Shizuka's was pink with elegant floral patterns.
Gian's was orange and bold, with flame decals on the sides.
Suneo's was black with silver accents, matching his flashy personality.
Daiki's was white with glowing green circuits.
Dekisugi's was polished gold, streamlined for precision.
Doraemon's own board was blue and white with advanced stabilizers.
"These feel amazing!" Shizuka said, balancing easily on her new hoverboard.
