"It's a Baby" ~(Y/N)

20,010 Years Ago

The Ice Age

Into early hours of the morning, the three mammals wandered on a trial leading through a beautiful valley engulfed in blooming cherry blossoms and rich pink crabapple trees. The sun began to rise from beyond the horizon, tinting the sky a baby pink color mixed in with the blue of the natural sky and the whites of the fluffy clouds.

"And then she picks this hair off my shoulder and says, "Look, if you're going to have an extra mating dance, at least pick a female with the same covered pelt." Right? And I thought 'whoa, she's going to go praying mantis on me.' You know what I'm sayin'."

As they continued to walk through pink-leafed trees, Sid proceeded to tell his story about his female companion, not realizing he had lost the attention of his new human friend, who's sparkly, (E/C) eyes had been too enhanced with the nature surrounding them.

Manny, who had previously been listening to Sid's weird tale, peered over his shoulder, "Hey, if you find a mate in life, you should stay loyal. In your case, grateful. Now get away from us. (Y/N), this is your fault!"

The said girl snapped out of her trance-like-state, turning her head away from the pink plant in front of her, "Hey!"

The mammoth rolled his eyes at the girl, turning his head forward again only to freeze in shock at the sight in before him.

"Well, I think mating for life is stupid." Sid obliviously stated, taking a bite out of his apple he had grabbed a few trees back. " I mean, there is plenty of Sid to go around, you know-Oof!" Sid was interrupted as he bumped into Manny, causing him to stumble backward and drop his apple.

(Y/N), who had been looking around and marveling at the gorgeous scenery, started to absentmindedly reply to Sid's statement. "I don't think -" but since she was distracted, she had not been aware of her surroundings and bumped into Sid, interrupting herself mid-comment. "Sorry."

"It's fine, Chica. Though I don't know why Manny stopped. Hey, Manny!"

"Manny?"

The two animals cried out to the frozen animal, walking beside him to see the disturbance. "Why did you stop walking..." (Y/N) voice drowned out as the three took in the sight before them.

A river was presented a few feet in front of them, separating the valley in two. Connected to the river up ahead was a large waterfall, it's clear water raining down from top. On their side of the river was a broken branch, one end was settled on land, while the other was stretched out into the blue water holding up something.

Or rather, someone.

(Y/N)'s (E/C) eyes widen with disbelief, "A human?"

A human female was holding herself on the branch. One hand gripped the brown bark, and the other was holding something close to her chest. The woman looked exhausted, her eye droopy, and her skinned clothes were drenched with water, no doubt weighing her down.

The lady opened her eyes, blinking a few times before they landed on the three species in front of her. She stared up at the three frightened, but it quickly changed to a look of hope as she looked between the bundle against her chest and the animals straight ahead. She moved her right arm and began to move, using the branch to hoist herself towards the side of the river.
